Possibly been on before, but some quality motorway policing from when officers drove 2-door range rovers, there were gaps in the central reservation, and a crashed E-type jag wasn't a big thing.

 

Warning. Severe amounts of 70's chod. Love it!

 

 

Also, that winter looks utterly bleak. Using 2 range rovers to pull out a jack-knife'd lorry though...!

So very obvious the improvements in vehicle safety over the last 40 years.  Some of those accidents and the injuries they caused were somewhat unpleasant, but a similar accident today would probably see little or no injury at all.  The Ambulance losing control was just ridiculous, and I shudder to think what lack of facilities exist in one, not least after it's been belted into a police car and had it's contents liberally distributed internally.

E-types are lethally dangerous cars. I've driven a few (from a very early flat floor that I did not fit in to a lat V12 auto) and every single one of them felt like the slightest bump would put the steering wheel through your chest, rip bits of you apart with the dash, and make a mess of your head on various nasty bits of interior.

 

I don't like them at all. But that often happens with a model of vehicle you work on for cash.
