Black I think.

Ah cool. If you ever end up with a beige leather one I'd be interested!

What colour's the interior?

FFS there must be at least £25 worth of parts in there, what a waste etc.

Sometimes social media is betterer than what it isn't at other times. Got wind (half-arsed advert) of a Focus (*Edit: It's a 1.8 'Collection' model) that sounded like it might be interesting, or as interesting as a Focus can be. '3 Door rally replica cosmetic only not performance apart from a K&N Upgrade' was the key wording. And these pictures...

It's took a fairly minor knock to the front, cracking the stupidly expensive second hand bumper and pushing the bottom of the wing back (not seen).  Today's pictures...

Zero previous owners.

It was a demo car for Bristol Street Ford apparently, the original owner worked there, saw it coming off the transporter and bought it. They loaded it up with extras (wheels (not ones now fitted) lowering kit, Morettes, Lexus rear lights (getting sacked off, obvs), after market filter and some other bits, then plastered it in stickers. He had to keep the name and address of the dealers on it plus the salesman's email address for the first 18 months, in return they fitted all the bits and knocked him two grand off the asking price.

Anyway, it's not started or moved for two years and is up a narrow drive, round a tricky corner and a mere stone's throw from Chumley Castle. Next up, get hold of my recovery mate and give him the good* news.

Sort of has potential to be a nice old ford, in a completely different colour mind, Jesus it looks bad in white..

If you squint ever so slightly that looks like a piece of white dog shit.

Not sure you need to squint.

Urrrm, it's errr, certainly different. Really, very different.

Might have been entertaining in say, orange perhaps. The orange of fire, burning, hot, fire, with real flames, heat and stuff.

You are running a competition with yourself aren't you. To find the most god awful car in the NW, buy it and show us lot.

You are winning, no question there mate, none at all.  Congratulations :)

It's a keeper. Although fairly* gash looking it should stay as it is really. There's a spare wing to replace the damaged one with it and some standard back lights.

It's so awful it's in danger of looping back over on itself and becoming good.

And that may well shatter reality as we know it into a trillion crystalline slivers, leaving us all spinning into an eternal void for countless aons screaming silently until the sun expands, dies and grows cold...

So go easy, yeah? With great shite comes great responsibility.

Filthy but once cleaned up it should look better. I hate it but I think it should be saved.

Of course it's completely out of fashion now, however its historic in that it symbolises the Max Power generation. Give it another 10-15 years when my generation (who was the Max Power gen) grow to middle aged, this will be in massive demand.

Time to get this ready for my mate to collect for me, went up with my lad today to see if we could get it to start.

Put it in gear and turned the key to jump it off the stuck brakes, then blew the tyres up to make it easier

Took a battery that was too big, so tried off the leads but not enough go in it. Removed battery tray, but big battery in, jump from the Puma and it's turning over. Tried to catch but smoke started coming out, my lad worked out it was the alternator pulley. The belt was turning but not the pulley, and he didn't fancy running it for very long at all in case we knackered things up.

Undeterred, and against advice, I discovered a special genuine Ford alternator pulley twatting tool nearby...

...and after 5 minutes of careful* work, the pulley freed off! I've got videos of it running, the alternator and belt were a little noisy but not for long and the engine sounded really well with no rattles or knock, and to be fair very little smoke. Not sure how to upload videos on here, but took one or two of running and being driven back and forth. Seriously tempted to whang it up and down the road as it's in the middle of nowhere, but decided against it.

Very happy with that, but a long way to go yet.

Ahh, FFS! How much for the whole car, chief?

The only keyboard needed when dealing with a focus.

As the forum focus licker, is this any use? Genuine Ford motorcraft crankcase valve thing. Picked it up for our mk1 1600 zetec but didn't keep it long enough!

If you want it PM me the cavcraft HQ address and I'll slip it into the outbox at work next week.... 1a80d70d3ad406031e3fdc5f8b0cf9f2.jpge3027f7c1c2d0f4c4ccb6b1c9ed794c2.jpg

Focus got dropped off, Escort is first off to the new storage place. Where, it needs to be added, it was too sodding wheezy to make it up a slight hill on wet grass.
