Wtf is a needle scaler?

SRS answer: It's a load of metal rods you shove on an air hammer that rattle about abusing whatever surface you aim them at, but crucially are pretty blunt and relatively flexible side to side, so don't rip a hole in things, burn or generally mess them up, I wouldn't like to use it on a large panel though, not without earplugs. Will have to try it on the side of the barn and see if I can convince ol' Jeb that the Martians are coming.

Cost: Not much. Little ones cost more than the MachineMart one I bought, which was £40 and came with some chisels as well.

Electrickery one? Can't see any reason why not, I didn't look though. Air tools are so cheap, my thought process now would be £99 for a cordless impact wrench, £similar for a decent angle grinder, etc. or £150 or so for a reasonable, but not crazy, compressor and £15-40 for the majority of tools. Oh, and £40 for a hose, and HOURS of joy when some muppet sells you an NST instead of BSP kit and you're none the wiser about this stuff.

(Most fucking effective theme ever. I don't even know what was on the show).

Unfortunately that's not an option. I'm not certain our shitpump even has an off switch.

Edit: Actually, that video sits on the "not cool" scale of share, that guy's got difficulties. Instead you'll have to remember the scene from The Wall that I was originally trying to find.

As you may be aware, the Porsche in for a bit of an engine rebuild...

But because 'twas the week before xmas, this has turned into a bit more of an engine rebuild than either me or the bloke with the big, fuck off set of spanners had planned for. Piston ring broken on one of the pots!

A bit of honing booked for next week....

Anyone expecting or hoping for a card from me this year can fuck right off.

Pretty standard for Autoshite, really : "Have eight cars, none works, borrowed SWMBOs car to drive to work."

I sometimes feel a bit of a light weight, I own 3 cars, 2 are legal, reliable and fairly presentable(ish). The third is a new buy and only the weather is really keeping me from getting it ready to be offered for test. One of my cars is the friends and family stand by. Sorry.

Current Fleet Status:

Still, apparently, in Hampshire.

Current cars statuseses:

In order of remembering them.

Peugeot 406 Coupé: More rattles from the suspension than Keith Richard's pillbox.
Mercedes E320 CDi Estate: Think it's going to get sold with a duff gearbox, life is good, but also inconveniently timed.

Mercedes SLK: Yellow.

Mercedes 300CE: Grim(y).

Mercedes A160 LWB: A most useful shed for storing things.

Hearse: Currently considering a service whereby the hearse is made more formal with more chrome and baroque detailing, then staffing it with ballbearers and directors in jester costumes. "Only Fools & Hearses" (yes. There is a Del Boy Hearse rig out there).

Jaguar XJS: Making a shopping list.

MG F: In the Shed of Shame. I think. Unless it's been stolen. Please, let it have been stolen.

Extras:

Twingo: The bits that have been removed are very clean now.

Delta: Hibernating.

Current Starfleet Status:

Klingons on the starboard bow.

No Accord coupe?

Just had an e-mail: more new parts required -  £296 plus VAT and £280 plus vat.

One is for an alarm siren (which can bollox!) and the other is for some shock absorbers for the engine mounts. Who the fuck has ever heard of engine mounts having shock absorbers? Oh, and they control the subframe as well apparently!

Seriously getting pissed off with this now.

I have no idea just what has been done to the bloody thing and what is pending/being done/not being done. Communication is not their strong point. Also, it was all supposed to take two weeks and it's been away for three and a bit already... Oh and a new key is £80 plus the dreaded for the key and coding.

Yesterday started with the XM almost refusing to start. Very sluggish but just caught at the second attempt.

NEC was pretty darned busy but caught up with a few Autoshiters. It's likely to be seriously rammed today, so I might just hide on the 2CVGB stand in Hall 5. The show feels bigger than ever to me, but that might just be me.

It was one of the things they deleted from the Rover 25 and 45 on project drive.

Off on a collection mission which involves driving 170 miles home in a slightly shonky old car with possible "issues". Wish me luck...

How does that even work?

Judging by how many that have fault codes for it when I plug them in I would say they don't

de-scaling needles obvs

Frank has made the beginners mistake here. The needle scaler is of course for scaling needles. To descale then you need a needle descaler.

Everyones proper nervy today, the Saturday morning visit to the pub was less relaxed than usual. Pissing with rain and the bloke parked in front of my Rover forgot to shut his lid, serves him right if he gets a wet arse when he gets back in his turret.

ShedX has flattened it's battery.

That's the thanks I get for saving it, the ungrateful silver shit.
