Splashed half of my Xmas Amazon GiftCard on a 'speed sensor', for the JB1 Gbox in MrSavvy.

7700418919.jpg

£9.99 delivered and not coming direct from China.

My speedometer has been going 'awol' for some months.... it makes the engine extremely 'jittery/juddery', on low throttle, when it drops to 0....

after 2 mins it just shoots back up and normal services resume

We will see......

TS

* spent some more on this (for 'wont shift' jobs)... @£7

Trigger, your enthusiastic Merc admirer sounds well dodgy. I suspect he'll turn out to be 'too busy' to visit, so will want to pay with Paypal and get his 'courier' to collect...

I think he will be buying it as a surprise gift for his father but he is on a oil rig or in a submarine

Sorry, I know you've been waiting all day to catch sight of my magnificent new 'driving' gloves. Here we go!

Cheaper than fitting a new, thicker steering wheel in a bid to stop 2CV driving from making my fingers hurt.

I have some driving gloves. Beige/cream string mesh on back, brown leather on the palms.brilliant for driving to work which is 3 mile away at 7am when it's minus 4 outside and heaters don't kick in! God knows how old they are but they where my mum's and she passed away when I was 8 and that's nigh on 20 years back. Will get a pic to compare.

Apologies, having my first full time job and a very full time woman to please takes up a lot of time these days :/

It's a 1.4 XN that boasts special features like a clock and intermittent wipers. 250k kilometres on the clock. But it drives very sweet with no typical peugeot creaks or knocks. I know that because the tight french fucks kept the radio so there's F.A else to listen to.

How long do you reckon you could drive it about on French plates for before anyone checked?

I know, I know, but I've been seeing the same UK-plated orange smiley Transit floating about here for 10 years+. And it's LHD.

Could be worse, could have left a radio in that only played French stations.

What a turkey. Who is gonna spend £800 on a pair of Allegro wings? The best-restored allegro in the entire world is probably only worth about £4000.

Funnily enough that's right on the money: http://classiccars.brightwells.com/viewdetails.php?id=4906

Hammer price for a 1980 Aggro Equipe, recently subject to a £10k restoration: £3,600. With 10% buyer premium and VAT on that you're looking at a smidgen over £4k.

Oh, and £20 for the catalogue to get you into the room where you can actually try and buy the thing.

Balls. I'm gonna put the Charade on RR over the weekend.

really?

you willing to inflict it to a life of being made to drag its ass on the floor, with wicked stretch tyres ftw nailed to it and half the bonnet being rustikified ?

you car,your choice ect lol

:-D

Looks like Allegros are clearly more desirable than Marinas as I've just picked up a pair of new wings for my Marina £140 the pair. Paid £200 for the car, doubt it will add a nought to the purchase price by fitting em !

Not really big news, but it's news for me ... for the first time ever there is a car in the garage I had built next to my house 7 years ago.

I cannot get to anything else in the garage, and I had to climb out of the passenger seat, but there is a car in the garage.

Also tiny news. While my 2CV may be hopelessly rotten, the lack of a working boot lock was annoying me. A few minutes work achieved this.

There really is a joy to working on simple cars. As you may spot, the 'key' piece has snapped. Raided my parts stash, dismantled another lock, dry-lubed everything and reassembled. Sorted.

Now it makes sense. Is it one for each of you or is one a spares/donor for the other?

Wish that were the case.

Buying the car gives folk the right to have a say in its future.

If you can't buy it, don't complain. Sorry, Autoshite.

Absolutely right, you tried here but no takers so what can you do?

There's a Volvo 240 round the corner from me with a RR sticker in. It looks lovely, polished and with some nice touches like an RAC grille badge. Not a scratch or dent. Not all blueists are car killers.

Not all RR members are useless, I've had a lad on there today come all the way down from North Yorkshire by train to buy my 190E, No nitpicking, no moaning, just a nice honest cash price deal at the price that i wanted, Happy days!.

Before all that though i drove up to Beccles this morning to collect the new Starlet for Mrs Trig, I was a little disappointed that the car hadn't even been washed or cleaned inside but it it's better than i hoped, I've already got it in the workshop and given it a service, I'm now back off into the garage to start polishing it.

I'll start a quick thread if there's enough interest later on, I've already pressure washed it which has made a massive difference to it, here's a quick photo from when i got home before cleaning it.

I've sold loads of stuff through R-R, its as good as anywhere, plus it costs £000000 so its impossible to complain about really

I don't think you can automatically expect a seller to wash and clean a car.

Very true but personally I couldn't sell a car that looked like it had been dragged though a hedge backwards and was full of Sheep dog hair.
