Scotland and back (572 miles) in the 9000 over the last couple of days. Faultless as ever...

Saw two other 9000s whilst we were up there too!

I've just woken up to start my journey to Scotland this weekend!

Sadly it'll be mostly in a hyundai ioniq not a Saab 9000,although by breakfast I'll be parked infront of a 9000...

The round pedal like thing in the corner left of your clutch pedal and behind the parking break should be your window washer foot pump afair.

@wuvvum we need a proper thread on that Mercedes! It doesn't deserve to get lost amongst this thread.

That's just flippin' awesome in so many ways.

Yep, the Merc needs it's own thread Wuv. You're having an interesting start to 2020!

Oh, and please bring it to shitefest, so I can sit in it and look cool for the first time in my life ?

After not starting the Mondeo for 36 hours, just checked resting voltage on the battery - 12.4v. So really it's on the cusp. I don't think there is a drain (nothing has changed) so time to pony up for a new one, I think.

It’s that time of year again. And another wet and windy weekend preventing me stripping down the spare 2cv Seats.

MOT pass today for this roffle win Saab 900i Auto.  I've spent a pretty penny on this lucky machine recently and it's pretty much spot on now, but I'm too busy and too short of space to enjoy it at the moment so I'm giving it to a pal up Finchley way to look after and maybe keep. Give it a wave if you see it cruising North London.

Really happy to see she's still on the go and getting the attention she deserves.  Still one of the best all round cars I've ever owned.

Fair enough - I'll start one when I get round to actually doing some fettling on the beast.

Indeed - neither are wheel trims.

In fact I could easily make more than I paid for the car by breaking it, but where's the fun in that?

Well, after the successful resurrection of the GSA and the Toledo...

It looks like the burds Clio is leaking PS fluid..

When I was at university in the early 1990s one of my lecturers was from south Africa and had imported his w115 saloon - his was petrol, black vinyl I think and white. I’ve rarely seen a stack headlight since.

I have had two stacks both 280CE, first one black was a stop gap between company cars the second white one planned for when I give up company cars.

Both run as daily drivers.

Yes and the white one was as a business vehicle doing 20k+ a year.

I also maxed it out in Germany showing over 120 mph.

The 250CE that my cousins had would manage about 16mpg at best.

I was doing a bit better than that with the later twin cam, around 20 mpg.

I think the black one looks very smart. Very German secret service.

Trouble is they are too big now and push back!

I had  a double stack 280SE in silver with 'Mexican hat' wheels. I loved it, but... it was a 'tad' rusty (read: hanging!) and I entrusted it to a specialist to find/make and then fit new front wings, re-spray it and generally return it to me for a not inconsiderable amount of folding (back in the day when we actually used 'foldoing'!) in pristine condition. I was working lots and lots of hours and had neither the time nor the energy to do it myself.

After a few months, the specialist went silent. After a few more I was getting worried and sent a friend that llived local to have a word. It seemed yon 'specialist' had done a bunk and left my car in a layby! When I collected it, the wheels were gone, all the chrome (bumpers. grill etc) was gone and the car was stripped with no parts anywhere to be found.

I gave it to a breaker :(
