SVX is back. Got bummed by the gearbox place.

I think the 'box mounts are super frigged 'cos I'm certain the box shouldn't be able to shake the car in reverse or go GNNNNBANG underneath the car under load.

Engine mounts and box mounts are still available from Subaru, amazingly.

Booked into tame garage to diagnose fault (after they've stopped laughing).

Then it needs a new exhaust, because new metal doesn't tend to weld to rust and voids.

Does anyone have any opinion of Autogreen tyres before I get a pair nailed to the front of the Zafira over the weekend?

They are very reasonably priced, the same figures for fuel, noise etc as Avon zv7's and I'm sure I've seen the name on modern car tyres.

Rocking them on the Primera.

they seem alright.

Just a budget brand punted by National, nothing special but not OMFG it’ll kill you either

Autogreens are OK but don't pay stupid money for them; not worth it. They're bargain basement and they need to be priced as such.

£40 a tyre fitted which seems good VALU, and on a Zafira B unlikely to be raced etc.

Its either £102 for 2 Autogreens and tracking (found a 50% code and it needs doing anyway) or £180 for the pair of Avons...

I did exactly the same - 4 tyres and tracking for £170 all in

Decent for a high street deal, aye.

I'd personally get the best tyres I could for cheap[er] online then get an indie to fit them, but precious few places fit tyres they don't supply these days.

Insurance got back to me and unsurprisingly they won't be fixing the MX-3.

They gave a reasonable offer which was about 10% above what I paid. Quick call to the case handler and now I'm getting even more.

It was really refreshing that there was no bullshitting and the insurance company was very upfront and reasonable about their valuation and quite willing to up it a bit when I mentioned recent full service etc.

Now on a lookout for a new whip.

I'm completely in tune with Bramz7 and have my eyes on early 9-3 in low pressure petrol turbo flavour. There's also a cheap 9000 with 2.3t...

Liked for your insurance company actually paying out. I had a total nightmare the one time I had a car written off, really pleased you haven't had to go through that.

I have a feeling, had this happened back in UK, I would have had a different story to tell.

I noticed they really hate wasting time here in Sweden. Yours and theirs.

Accident was last Thursday, monies in my bank account already. Good turnaround I think.

Reminded me of the hooge side steps on my brothers car he just got when zafira got wrote off

I usually do that, but my local place charges a tenner a wheel, which soon erodes any savings.

Plus Amy will be with Charlie tomorrow, so she can pop up drop the car and go to McDonald's for half an hour or something.

Having a look around all the usual suspects it's also the cheapest, must be the 17" size. Tyreleader goes quite pricy before I get out of the shit looking summer tyres!

Just waiting for her to send me a photo of the tyre size so I can double check and I'll gib

You need an xm or xantia... LOW mode is ace for roofs, high mode is ace for wheelarch cleaning!

I'm glad people like the MATS.

However, any suggestions forthcoming re: HORRIFIC NOISES would also be welcomed.

It'll be the gearbag, of course.

How it operates isn't the issue.

I have always had a massive 'want' for an SVX, I think they are utterly effin' gorgeous. Swap for a Merc ragtop? :) Thought not...

You don't want mine.

I'm not sure if I even want mine.

After November's over, and I can separate car from 'specialist' again, I'm sure I'll feel differently.
