Dave you tart! Look at that! *

M62/M6 slipstreaming at 56mph to Wiltshire and win Shitefest. It would be rude not to.

*I don't even know what it is.

I love the M-body Chryslers, especially the police package Plymouth Gran Fury and Dodge Diplomat 8)

Now that you've said that, I'm going to have to leave this here....

Yes, it was mine. Bought it blind on ebay and discovered it had a Flintstone floor option. After two years of failing to find someone to weld it, that I could afford, I sold it on at a small loss. It had the 6, which makes me think it was an urban unit rather than Highway Patrol. You'd want the V8 on the highway.

WIN! :D :D :D

Does it still exist, I wonder?

I collect it Thursday dinnertime.

I may just sneak down to perv!! Are you collecting it from Gray's place? Only round the corner from Sporty-Towers!

Posted

Yeah, from the unit. Im being picked up from mine at 10ish, but it'll be gone half past before we set off and we'll be in the Oxford so it may take a sweet while to arrive.

Mate of mine had one like that years ago, only his was beige-tastic. I'm not sure which is more tasteful/tasteless!

Still, they're a top giggle to drive, and very very comfy. That was the best jaunt to the chippy, ever. I just dumped it outside the chippy 'cos there was no way it was going in a parking space. No-one seemed to mind, either, which was nice.

Still, top buy: I am genuinely green with envy.

I don't think it does, I have a feeling it went round the oval in 2008 or so. :( Certainly "a" black-and-white M-body did, there was a pic in Classic American, or possibly PC. DVLA shows last date of liability as 1997, so if it does still exist, it isn't taxed. I sold it to a lad in mid-Wales, it's possible he still has it, but not looking promising.

Can you feel it ,see it, hear it today?

If you can't, then it doesn't matter anyway

You will never understand it 'cause it happens too fast

And it feels so good, it's like walking on glass

It's so cool, it's so hip, it's alright

It's so groovy, it's outta sight

You can touch it, smell it, taste it so sweet

But it makes no difference 'cause it knocks you off your feet

You want it all but you can't have it

It's cryin', bleedin', lying on the floor

So you lay down on it and you do it some more

You've got to share it, so you dare it

Then you bare it and you tear it

You want it all but you can't have it

It's in your face but you can't grab it

I'm sure that's a lyric and highly appropriate, but it went so far over my head that I didn't even have to duck. Attribution please?

FAith No More - Epic

Posted

TYVM chaps, but no wiser really. I think I've heard of Faith No More, which must mean Epic is the song title. Is it current? Should I move this line of enquiry to the Stupid Questions thread?

Posted

I suppose it depends on how current you consider 1989 to be. I feel old now (but not as old as eddie  )

Yup, Epic is the song title, one of their more famous tracks that came out in the early 90's I think.

Well! Now I know who my mates are, don't I! 1989? Yeah, current. I'll be amazed to little mint balls if someone can prove to me that FNM can lay down a song in two minutes or less, like the real masters.

Had my Volvo 240 up for sale for a few weeks and had a little interest, all of a sudden someone appears who is mental keen to buy it, hasn't seen it yet bit wants to send a deposit, can't wait to get hold of it e.t.c. I should be pleased, but I'll be very sad to see it go!

I always preferred 'Midlife Crisis' myself.

If Dave was having a Midlife Crisis he would have bought one of these instead:

I was 6. FNM is SCTSH_ANDY music. I have only heard their cover of 'Easy' or whatever the hell Ritchie from Bottom called it originally.

FNM and L7, Christmas '92, Barrowlands. One of my favourite gigs of all time, you'll just have to trust me on that.

I know it was totally irrelevant, but I just had to put that out there.

If we're quoting Faith No More, may I weigh in with "Jizzlobber?" (Obscure album track from Angel Dust), but that Yank makes me want to be one.... I know, tenuous link, but what the hell.

I'd like to think that, at 27, I am a bit young for a mid-life crisis. We'll call this a life experience.

I can't wait, in 24hours I'll be (hopefully) en route home with a MASSIVE grin on my face.

Now all i need to do is shift that damned Golf on...

Posted

Seriously? You're coming to it direct from a Golf? You'll think you're on another planet, a planet where your kidneys don't hurt, where your bum thinks it's floating, where you'll be wondering what to do with your hands. :D Yeah, you'll get rather familiar with a few more petrol stations, but that's a small price to pay. Have fun!
