Mine came today when overtaken by a Montego saloon on the A1 with one side of it's rear lights malfunctioning

If this is spot of the year then its been a pretty rubbish year! What are we even looking at here?

The jokes on you for not spotting the tongue in cheek nature of the post I'm afraid!

It really is the arse end of a Montego saloon with dodgy lights though - the shit quality of the photo does not detract from the rarity of the sighting!

Mine is still this Rover 75 that I came across in April a five minute walk from my house (I exaggerate, it's probably more like seven) and I started a thread with almost the exact same title as this one.

As I said in that thread this was Rover test car that never even left Longbridge save the odd filming trip, sometimes dressed as a police car, until the collapse of MG Rover.

Was that bizarre modified Mini Marcos posted this year or was it last?

I fail to get the irony of the original post.

Who gives a shit about spot of the year, thread of the year etc.

Spot of the year for rareness has got to go to my Sigma , I have never seen another in real life and would love for a shiter to find me one ....

Well Nisfan in Scotland did have one for a short while and another was spotted in Plymouth area once neither exactly round the corner from me in Sussex.

If anyone can find one and get contact details of the owner for me I will reward them with some beer tokens or something should it be a productive lead !

We visited mother-in-law before Christmas and I decided to pop to her local scrappy as my BMW daily grenaded it’s rear badge somewhere on the A30. As I dug deeper into the undergrowth, imagine my astonishment as I was momentarily transported to a scrapyard scene from the early 1990’s. If I didn’t have the photographic evidence, I’d assume the whole thing had been a strange dream as the result of inebriation.post-4721-0-99146000-1514651806_thumb.jpegpost-4721-0-41707400-1514652090_thumb.jpegpost-4721-0-16179000-1514651873_thumb.jpegpost-4721-0-44208800-1514651955_thumb.jpegpost-4721-0-68788400-1514651994_thumb.jpeg

Those two Princesses have a sad story since the silver one had been passed around a bit before the final owner acquired it and the blue one (as a spares car), let the club know his intentions and then BAM scrapped.  Hopefully they'll at least get pillaged for spares to help others out.  Front wings, suspension units, doors and those rare specific late door mirrors on the silver car are all worth salvaging, just a shame I'm much too far away to do it.

The silver one looked remarkably solid given it was sat in a scrapyard, and made of ‘that’ll do’ steel.

It was, would have made an excellent purchase for someone, especially with the blue car.  Shame, really, that it's met such an ignominious end, especially given how rare it is.  Silver paint and orange cloth interiors are for winners.
