Blooming good car that R.R, actually gutted i didn't get the chance to buy it back.
Might have a bush or two here in the stash of random bits, if you get stuck for parts let me know.

Hope it returns good service like it did for me

280miles in bad weather with a sketchy rented trailer.  Bloody brilliant thing.

How much did it cost you to rent the trailer? I've got a few cars that'd need moving soon...

£90 til Tuesday.  I'm hoping for a discount off the next one..

Damn, that's a deal if it comes with a winch if you consider how much it costs if you pay someone for multiple trips.

About that.

"Powerful winch".

Here's me spending an hour pulling the 405 on

Sounds fun. Unfortunately that's a mandatory piece of equipment for the shite I want to move.😂

Great to see the Rangie earning it's keep though.

Missed the Rangey updates on here, good to see it's earning its keep. Did it notice it had a trailer on? Mine towed extremely well, as you'd expect I guess

It drank a bit more, especially with the Audi on.

This thing is fun

Seems like an old Range Rover could be the bloke's equivalent of Bodyform for women - you're now able to do all sorts of activities in spite of the leaks.

Whoa Range Rover, Range Rover for you!

And home.  Write up later, just done 800 miles towing mostly at night

That's @Jimbob McGregor's.  It's amazingly light and looks incredibly cool.  I can't wait for it to be properly awoken from its slumber - it had been resting in that barn 7-8 years.

Resting there for that time, but I took it off the road in 2005. It’s time to get it back on again.

Yup.  I guess that probably involves it no longer being lighter than when new 😁

Range Rover has been sitting a bit too much recently.

Unfortunately the 1500 or so miles above wore the tread from the shoulder of the NSR tyre, because the alignment bolts are seized and the wheel has far too much toe in.

I kept using it a bit, like on this trip where I picked up a bit of wood.

Mr McGregor kindly cut through the seized bolts and fitted the new ones which 83C had supplied with the car.  This revealed that the flexis were a bit rotten and so it ended up getting a fair amount of brake work too.

Last Fri was it's last day of MOT, so I applied some tape I bought to repair the tarpaulin which covers the dinghy

And took it down dale

Meanwhile one of the height sensors has gone on the fritz, so I need to get it changed out as it keeps raising for about 2 miles then goes into an error state and drops to the bump stops till you restart.

Couple of weeks ago whilst the l322 was on the lift I managed to leave the ignition on on the Duster for 24 hours, discovering only when I couldn't find my keys to use it to pick the kids up from school.

PXL_20250704_151130779.jpg.95078f3395da5db83da76b420600f81f.jpg

Thankfully I have a backup backup car and hauled the Express out to collect children.

PXL_20250704_143034771.jpg.9dfa6c2cd74ad645f28f0b6381e5d9e6.jpg

Getting back I discovered that the battery was a 5v.  I assumed this means "fucked", ordered a new one from Tayna and stuck it on a dumb charger for an hour to see if I could make it work.  That got it to 10.5v, so put a smart charger on and it made it all the way to 13, and it even started.  I ragged it out for quick run (22 miles) and when I got back the bloody stop start was kicking in, so it obviously seemed to think it was OK.  Testing it said it was good too.

PXL_20250707_075708600.jpg.51d8f5f5f3397edbd1adf7ba759b0f0c.jpg

When the new battery arrived the next day I put it in and demoted the old one to the express, which is the same size but not stop-start, surprisingly enough.

New battery good enough for Twixfest, as the duster stood in for my two interesting cars.

@Rust Collector you enjoying catching up there? 😂

I was only two years behind! Luckily the kids were quiet this eve so I’ve been catching up… I look forward to having a read again in two years time! 🤣
