How easy was it to change the clock in your car this morning?

H button 23 times o. The car clock, although I suspect 11 would have been fine, no PM indication.

Radio clock is witchcraft, plus I suspect my new one will be here soon...

  • Volvo clock -  Reach through the steering wheel while driving.  Turn the knob anti-clockwise and hold, and hold and hold some more.  Hope that you get it finished before you get to a bend where you need to turn the wheel more than a quarter of a turn.  Realise that it's fruitless as you won't be driving much longer!
  • SAAB clock - not much point, it's been stuck on my drive in over a year now.
  • Work Van - It's a pool vehicle, leave it for some other schmuk to deal with and use my watch instead
  • 1993 Renault Clio Phase 1 Clock - Despite weighing in the little shitbox years ago, the best thing about it was the electromechnical clock, so I took it.  It's mounted into a metal box with a 12v DC PSU on my desk.  I even got the backlight to work (it never did on the car).  Push and turn the knob to adjust, I've found it works better if you turn the power off first.

It took me 0 seconds as I hadn't got round to changing it forward in the first place. Now it's only 3 minutes out rather than 57 minutes.

Ages! When I finally found the right menu I found there is an automatic setting so that's it futureproofed. Merc A Klass.

Had to hit a button next to mine a bunch of times.

Did it on the move to make it more interesting. Missus wasn't as impressed as I had hoped.

Got to love old school mechanical clocks.

Even if my dashboard is bloody filthy.

I suspect that in the future changing the clock will require the removal of a wing and the front slam panel.

Such is progress.

Didnt bother, being a Rover behind the MG badge, much of the clock doesnt light up any more.
Same for the streetwise.

The much older 414 works perfectly, eleven button presses.
