Anybody in the South/Midlands who's into classic Yanks should enjoy 'Rally of the Giants' on the 18th of July at Knebworth, Herts.

Lots of proper American stuff, not rows of clapped out 1985 Camaros and PT Cruisers.

Confederate flags, wannabe cowboys and line dancing music are usually fairly rare as well.

Can't remember how much it is to get in, but its less than a tenner.

Knebworth is a fantastic day out. We've been for the last four years, twice in the escRot 8)

Another bump for Thornes PArk show in Wakefield. Its next Friday (2nd July) - If anyone fancies it give me a shout and I'll meet you beforehand.

Whats this then?? A pub meet?

^ I was wondering that.

Might come down though. How much is it to take a van through the tunnel?

If it's under 3.5t then it is £1.40 each way.

Sorry Simon didn't see the message you put

Yeah there is a pub, but i think the view / backdrop will give a good oppertunity for some fantastic pictures. (If the motorbikes don't all bunch up  )

Think it would be cool if Cavette could whip down on his scooter too.

Hopefully quite afew people can make it.

Anybody going to Anglia Car Auctions classic sale on July 10th? - some interesting looking stuff in the catalogue.

Is that one of those Andrew Greenwood shows with arena, commentator, and a 'concours' event which doesn't involve the judge sticking his finger up the air filter spouts to make sure it's clean?

Yes. Not sure about the concours bit but there is certainly an annoying commentator making the same comments about each vehicle.

"Lovely machine"

"Thanks for bringing it"

etc

Anyone fancy the Thornes Park Show in Wakefield

Its from about 5pm-ish Friday 2nd July.

Its usually a good laugh, as Rt Hon D. Hirst and Jon 'Dugong' Watanabe Esq will attest to.

Probably look at doing similar to last year, meet at Redbeck about an hour before, then have a cruise through town and try park in a disorganised gaggle not too close to anyone else.

I think its about 3quid per car.

Might get the GT6 out of the garage and give it a run. Seems to be smoking a bit since I crashed it so might just give it a blast to see if it clears up or if I have damaged it some other way. Not driven more than 4 miles since the crash. What's the postcode for this place so I can find my way?

Tis a bit of a mess at the mo with wires hanging out the back, hand painted patches on it and cracks in the sill where some goon had filled them but might as well take it for a spin. Have got the week after next off to put some new sills on so will be a run before i take it off the road for 1 minor job and then spend 6 years restoring it.

Would have to meet there a bit later if it is still going on as working a bit later tomorrow night.

Don't know if any of you lot might be interested, but there's the CSK memorial run coming up next month.

With the sad news that SD1 engineer Spen King passed away recently plans are being put in place to have a memorial run to remember him.

Provisonal deatils are:

The run will be on SATURDAY 21st AUGUST 2010

Start will be from the Land Rover factory at Lode Lane, Solihull and the first car will depart at 10.30am.

Finish will be at the Heritage Centre,Gaydon.

The run will also include members from the Stag Owners Club, Range Rover Register and Rover P6 Club plus other clubs that represent the cars Spen was involved with.

I might just pop along. Spen King and David Bache were responsible for most of the British cars I've ever owned.

Where is it, and when?

Haynes Museum in Zummerzet. 8th August IIRC.

Despite the fact there is a lot of modified stuff, it should still be a good event. I R LOOKING 4WOD 2 IT.
