Delorean motor company test track, and most of the original factory still exist. The test track was seriously overgrown, and took a lot of clearing by the event organisers in order for it to be used (a charity event - car show - autotest - drive around the old circuit). The track is quite short.. but it has rumble strips, cobbles, and a fantastic fully banked circular bend..

 

The circuit has only ever been used a handful of times since the demise of delorean motor company, the present owners - Montupet - manufacture alloy cylinder heads and wheels etc. Present owners tightly control the site, and no one is permitted to be on the track. In recent years a few high profile delorean anniversary milestone events, were granted permission and allowed delorean owners the privilege to tour the circuit, some of the events were televised in documentaries and news reports.

 

This was a big deal for me!! It's been something I've wanted to do for the last quarter of a century..

I didn't mess about either! Samba had a forward facing go pro, and a friend in front had a rear facing go pro to capture the samba!

Thats a bit shit. Real peice of history there. Its not like we are short of brownfield sites to develop either!

I'm still scratching my head as to who it was on here who actually owns a DeLorean! 

Edit: Just worked it out. @Justwatching - you need to edit your thread title as I reckon many of us, me included, have missed updates on your DeLorean. 'Justwatching's Shite' definitely undersells your quality choices!

As there can't be many red Deloreans in the UK I assume that car was for sale late last year on Ebay somewhere near Pickering.

My DeLorean already met this track - in 1981! I'd love a reunion though.
