So my ten year old upset a Bentley driver......

Coming back from Cornwall on Saturday we stopped off at the services and were walking through the car park when my daughter (very clued up on cars usually, but the cheaper end of the market :-) ) spotted a Bentley and said 'that Rover 75 doesn't look right, someone has stuck ugly lights on the back'. The drivers window was open and the rather large man sat inside said in a very loud voice 'it's not a rover, it's a bentley', I couldn't resist saying to my daughter that he was right and that she shouldn't insult Rovers (she looked at me as if I was mad at that point).

So if you are a rather large chap with a Bentley up for sale since Saturday I can only apologise. I have to admit I had never noticed the similarity between their rear ends before but it is quite striking.

Ha.

My daughter was learning car badges a few years ago and saw a Ferrari at a show. 'Look daddy I know this one, its a Vauxhall'

Stewart yesterday at Braunton Wheels told me there was a Ferrari. I went off looking but could only find a shitty 90's Mustang

"Oh" said Stewart, "I thought it looked a bit rubbish for a Ferrari"

he was not discrete with this observation, how I chortled

The Apprentice here once mistook his dads Audi Allroad for a Mondeo..... Didn't go down too well.

A young boy (probably 5-6ish) pointed at my Jag and told his Dad "Look, Ferrari", he replied, "No, that's a Jaguar, Like Grandpa's car". Made me chuckle.

Can you legally leave them on the road like that? If you swung round the corner from that junction behind it you'd make a bit of a mess.

To be fair it would probably serve you right for not looking left first but even so.....

When my daughter was about 8-9 I had a Defender, she recognised the Land Rover logo on the T shirt of a guy walking towards us at a show

Look dad Land rover , Landy Rover , Randy Lover, that's not right, what's Randy Lover as the guy walked past laughing

Nothing love, it's a misprint

Well, it has a registration plate and I expect it's tax exempt and MoT exempt. So as long as it's insured, the owner has every right to park it there !

The neighbours have a Jag X Type. When the owner, who's a very down-to-earth bloke, explained to me that it's basically a Mundano underneath, and runs the same* motor as his Transit. His wife, who is lovely, but a little bit of a Hyacinth Bucket, pulled a face at him, and interjected with a frustrated,

"Phil, I really wish you'd stop telling people that."

He laughed. Bet he didn't get any tea that night, mind. The ironic thing is the Jaaag sounds like a bag of nails on a cold start, cuffing smoke everywhere and hunting like a bastard. The Transit looks ropey, but the motor is on the button, and sweet as a nut. Go figure.

Rover?

As everyone can clearly see, Bentleys look like Hyundais:

If I squint at the first pic I see a 75, always thought the 75 was a good looking car but the Bentley is like it's ugly brother who no one mentions.

Providing it has some parking lights....

You're absolutely right on that one - though it's a rule I've never seen enforced !

The Ferrari now has a living van attatched too, twice as long ... and bollards around it . It is a pain pulling out ,you cant see up the road, and their car is always parked right opposite the junction .. Its like a chicane !!! On a busy school day its a bugger , beyond the junction it's one way road  to a secondary school .And Mummys can't have kids WALKING  to school , so the road is chocka   , especially when coaches try to get past . Doesn't bother me, until my house catches fire !

With every other 300C bearing Bentley wings its no wonder 10 year olds are confused.   Would have pissed me off at that age even more than it does now.

I thought they were only required if you were parking on the offside?

And I would actually rather have the Korean.

I thought it was if you're parked facing oncoming traffic, which I've realised as I typed means the same as your comment.

I had a sales rep come to see me at work a few weeks ago, in what I thought was a shiny new Jaguar.

I said to him, you must be doing well if they have let you have a Jaguar.....he then pointed to the Mazda badge on the back!

I got a load of shit on the Jaguar Owners Club Facebook page for pointing out the similarities between the 2 cars. I actually think the Mazda is nicer looking TBH.

There's a modern Jag that parks over the road from my flat; I swear it looks just like the last Mondeo.
