Bloody hell, that has got a very clean MOT history. Only failed because of a brake pipe and emissions in the last 10 years. Very surprised not to see anything more serious considering its age.

That'll sell for silly money because low mileage cars are always* worth a fortune

Lol at "service stamp at 925 miles"

Not as bad as last weeks best kept Insignia at Manheim - '4 service stamps, 246,000 miles'

Yeah that inspires confidence

I do need to try one of these Metro's/100's at some point, those and an 800 are the only Rovers of this era I've never tried.

What are people's experiences of them ?

My experience of them is that they don't have the nicest driving position for someone who 5ft 11 and it's the only car I've ever tripped up getting in and out off. Unless it's a GTi 16v I find them hard to get excited over.

I really liked mine. '94 rover metro with the 1.1 SOHC k series. Great engine and surprisingly nippy. Would have another

Not necessary most of the stock that goes through thats not prime retail, is bought by Eastern Europeans, and i cant see it being desirable, i got the super smashing lovely Volvo 940 when i was working there, it was a minter, only 3 bids on that

Yup. That tallies with my experience. Horrible driving position compared to the Austin versions. The chunky Rover steering wheel feels totally out of place. Disappointing, as I wanted to like them.

Get a CVT one for added LoLs. Guaranteed winner in a traffic light grand prix! If I were to have another it'd have to be an early H/J plate GS or povvo 1.1C with the metal rear bumper.

In that case it must be bought by a shiter to save it being on Gumtree for £2500 next week

We all know someone on here wants/needs/craves it, so I've made it easier for them.

Went down at lunch time for a look, and here we are, if i hadn't bought the Sterling on Sunday this would be gracing my drive.post-20451-0-97873800-1497366523_thumb.jpg

LOL that's what my car would be like if it went through an auction, 3 stamps, 150,000 miles, mainly because the last service in the book was at 35,825 on 28/4/12 and since my old man had it it did get serviced but not at a garage, so no stamps, and then I started using a VAG specialist, had it serviced and next stamp after that was 148,741 miles on 28/4/17 so looks like its gone over 100K and 5 years between services.

If that Metro was last serviced at 925 miles its probably not been serviced in about 20 years!!!

Insignia reminds me of a bloke I used to work with

Bought one brand new or ex rental nearly new, no servicing in 90k

Had it serviced and in true scary old cortina Laguna fashion it shat itself about 10 min later.

New engine required despite it being the really quite solid 1800 petrol

Be interesting to know what it fetches, there was a 5 door for sale at an MG specialist in Dudley. 16k milage mind you but not a great spec and it was up for just north of 3k if I remember correctly

I doubt anyone in their right mind would pay £3k for a Metro, but I would be interested to know how much the dealer actually knocked off it.

I am thinking that as there are so many low mileage 100s and Metros about that this won't go for that much at all.

However, it does look like it is in bloody great condition, probably as close as you could get to an almost new condition Metro today. I am looking forward to seeing what it will go for on Thursday.
