Just to remind myself that I have done just a little bit more than two thirds of fuck all to the Cowley since I bought it 5 years ago (the wheel arches might disagree) here are a couple of before and after the trimmer took out a five year option on my left bollock in cash.....

If Willy Wonka had owned a car I reckon that green Mercury interior would have suited him.

Equally efficient Japanese plasticity.

Apologies to those with OCD tendencies for the seat/mat mismatch.

What's this one?

It's got the same seat catches as on the mk6 Fiesta. They are always breaking.

Is that a pre-facelift Capri II? What spec, L or XL?

It's my 74 very early mk2, 1.6 L. It's even listed on the V5 as a 'Capri base'. It's basically a mk1 Capri with an early mk2 body shell sat on top.

I need better ideas for threads (that don't involve nuclear holocausts in Sheffield).

When exactly has it become wrong to want to nuke Sheffield?

When can I pop by to collect this interior?

Not for a while unfortunately.  It is my favourite interior of them all, not that I'm a fan of electric seats.

You really are a petulant fucker aren't you.

Mummy, mummy, the nasty people on the internet are being nasty. They have added something to a thread I started that I don't like.

I've been back through your recent "input", Ben.  Perhaps you could try making a positive contribution, for a change?  Some posts about shite, not shit, for example?

Thanks in advance.

Last time I went to Sheffield it looked like it had already been nuked!!

But Sheffield is the jewel in South Yorkshire's crown! Try Rotherham, or Barnsley for a proper culture shock.

The grimmest place I've ever been in the UK (London aside, natch) is Peterborough. Never seen anything like that before & never want to again!

My 1st car, a 1997 phase 1 Peugeot 306, after I bolted some Meridian leather seats in it.

My 2nd car, a 2001 mk2 Mazda MX-5. I left the interior standard on this (the giffer trinket gear knob and handbrake were the previous owner's efforts). I still kick myself for selling this one sometimes.

My 3rd car, a 2001 phase 3 Peugeot 306 estate. LX, yo!

No photos of Mason the LS400's interior, but here's the current steed's interior. The Xantia which I've had over a year now.

I don't appear to have any photos of the BMW 316's interior. Ah well.

Perhaps one prefers one's door seals knackered and one's rev counter inoperative?

Posted

My 1st 306's rev counter never worked, and the passenger door seal was never quite right after this...

Had a diesel ph2 with a buggered tacho.

Can't like a post showing wanton vandalism, soz.

What the interior of a Rover 45 looks like when it hasn't been cleaned, or even opened for that matter, in nearly two years.

One carrier bag did contain old food wrappers, fortunately nothing too gross though.  You'll have to imagine the fragrance.

Aye, the fuckers couldn't steal my radio so they just smashed it.

Is it an XUD thing to have buggered tachos? Mine was an XUD too. I even replaced the sensor that bolted onto the flywheel housing and got a short period of activity from the tacho then it died again. I just gave up in the end. I've driven plenty of cars that were never fitted with tachos as standard, so meh. I learned in a Fiat Brava 1.4 which just had a massive speedo, then a Xsara Picasso (also no tacho, just a digital speedo) and then drove around in a series 3 Land Rover for a while.
