I thought Eric preferred stretched CX prestiges.

I understand that the DDR Council of Ministers used both CX's and Volvos; see link below about a surviving Volvo, there is a picture of Eric about to climb aboard...

PS I have stood in the same spot shown in the first photo when Chemnitz was called Karl Marx Stadt and we were in the DDR. There was a Volkspolizei officer with a speed gun there, he stopped a couple two up on a Simson Swallow!!

Even the rear door opening has been pissed about with - the shut line goes vertically up through where the window would have been.

no the shut line is right its the window thats changed which should run parallel to door edge- it almost looks like they used the c- pillar glass

possibly a nilsson conversion or a royal model or executive or something!

just a quick google shows some similar body styles.

awaiting expert assistance.....

My money would be on it being a Nilsson 740 Limo. There was a model with a smaller rear window, different door treatment and 20cm longer wheelbase I believe.

MoT history thinks it's still silver. Doing only about 3k miles per year. Ironically lots of failing on missing rear lights.

Seems a fair bet that it's armoured. But, if so, why make the rear end look so odd? Armoured vehicles are usually built to look as anonymous as possible. And, if you were building an armoured Volvo you'd use a V6 as a base not the 2.3.

It's got a tow bar, the chrome around the rear lights is that stick on Halfords stuff and it's wonky and the shut lines on the boot and doors are all over the place. It's not a professional conversion, it's either a film/tv prop or it's a home made shed piss about. I reckon.

I suppose if you stuck on some American style number plates it could pass on as a Presidental limo. Y'know, to the uninitiated......

A roofchopped 1982 Volvo 760 Executive in the Swedish comedy "Hajen Som Visste För Mycket" .

This unique and rare Volvo was built by Volvo only for this movie. Unfortunately the car was scrapped after the movie was finished...

But undeniably one very cool Volvo! Looks awesome Roof Chopped!

I saw a volvo looking car driven by an Asian fellow. With the front end looking like a mk2 jag. Looked like that lepu fellow off chop shop had designed it?

Holy thread resurrection.

This bucket of thing seemingly lives near me, and has been repainted as a homage to the Greenwood in GTA San Andreas.

Whatever he is smoking, I would like.

This car is properly weird. Well done. My first though from the rear was it was trying to be Lincoln, but then I realised it's definitely trying to be a Volvo still.
