Is it really worth it??

Just seen a H reg Sierra sapphire 1.8 with no mot since last year showing 22800* miles for £3000

*real mileage as per mot checker is 122800.

Shirley that should be only worth £3/400 really.

Mot history doesn't look too bad and its description is touch up on bonnet and two wood screws holding bumper on plus 2 flat tyres.

Had my offer of £300 declined as "it's only done 22k"

Pointed him in direction of motchecker.gov.

Bumper screwed together as well!

And yet the listing doesn't change - chancers

It's old so it must be valuabl, it's the way of things, it doesn't matter if it's shit, mass produced, undesirable, it's old so it's valuable.

FFS. As above - Chancers.

fvcking hell, when one of it's brethren would have been just three years old I was looking to buy it for £1500 with an MoT and no Woodscrews.

Just need a tardis

Is he related to that chancer on Deeside Ind. estate who kept trying to flog old crap for stupid money?

Posted

I've just offered £300 quid too, maybe he'll get the message.

Then again maybe not, once a chancer......

I'd have said a bit more than £300, but FRO for anything more than £1k.

Just offered £300 to take the piss before realising I wouldn't pay that for it

I've just asked if they're happy to guarantee and prove the mileage

You'd think a trader would know that anyone can check the MOT history now.

He's a house clearance guy so he's probably got that for "scrap value" in a house clear deal.

"Classic" & "Vintage" used to describe a 1990 Sierra?

Must have herd that Sierra Cosworth's go for silly money and went "I KNOWS WHAT I GOT"...

This probably is worth the asking price these days:

This chap doesn't think so though.

Looking at his profile, he seems like a level headed individual.

He probably doesn't like the car as its south african.

I see the listing has ended, they've clearly got the message.

Be interesting to see how it is relisted though.

They replied to my message very apologetically saying they hadn't realised the mileage was 100k out and were going to resist accordingly.

I messaged him about an hour ago to point it out too, and to be fair he was sound about it and said he would amend it.

I meant relist. I knew downloading a spellchecker called SAVI was a mistake

So it's relisted at £2499.00 or best offer with corrected mileage.

Still over the top, especially as it's advertised with two flat tyres and a bodged bumper. FFS, if you want top money for a motor make look like it's worth top money.

If thats "worth" two and a half bags, mine must be worth ten.
