SF17 - Bubble Car Museum: insert photos/memories here

Daz - you'll be pleased to know after you left DW took to hiding all the Top Gear magazines in people's cars so they at least didn't get chucked in the bin immediately. I found two on top of the stuff in my boot last night, then I got home and found about six more behind the driver's seat!

Well, I'm a socialist. I believe in spreading the wealth*. I took one manual myself. I also made curtains out of some of the magazines.

Dresden is bloody nice too. Not been to the others.

google them - theres reason why :D

Didn't take many pictures, but in the bubblecar museum I got several flashbacks to visiting my grandparents houses as a child. The mock up  rooms they had done could have been lifted straight out of one of those houses

Also, I'm grateful to ruffgeezer, 3VOM (Bob, I think?!) and beko1987 for sorting out the 305's indicators. They were stressing me out to fuck and I was sick of having gaffa tape on the cluster to hold it together. I don't mind a bit of shonk but I like stuff to not have tape hanging out like the Amazon once did.

The brakes are also shocking so I hope dollywobbler and beko1987 weren't put off too much. Some new rotors and pads are on the way.

The incremental stuff will continue on the 305 and culminate with the dent in the rear three quarter being knocked out and the NOS door panel from FOAD being fitted.

Peugeot made three incremental changes to the S2's cluster and the moment CFG has a cluster from one of dodgytom's scrappers, bulbs out of the nob_van and a holder out of a LHS unit a specialist from Holland sent me.

Had a great time at shitefest. Excellent company, great location, interesting automobiles, great weather, nice and relaxed. I'd like to do it every weekend! Oh, and I want to see lucky again. The way she wolfed down that burger was class. I don't think she chewed once! RichK's drone was awesome. I want one! Oh, and a cheap jag x300 if such a thing exists...

Left all my stuff in the car last night bar what I was wearing when I left Lincs.

They were fine, it pulled up straight, just a bit vibratey. Driven much worse on much newer cars!

Afternoon peeps. As stated above, Scotoshite mostly were all home between 7:30 and 8pm last night. Another great weekend and already can't wait for the next one. As usual it was great to catch up with some old faces and meet new ones.

I'd also like to add that I'm very disappointed that people kept referring to catsinthewelder by his real name to the point I now remember it. I was perfectly happy just knowing him as Mr Cats.

Anyways here's my photographic account of the weekend's proceedings.

A bonus giffertastic Acclaim was parked behind the Lancaster. The aircraft's old pilot stipulated in his will that the Acclaim should be displayed together with the Lancaster after his death, and thus it was so.

It was nice to meet you and your fellow Scots, one who I gave a chair and 850 handbook to. I couldn't understand a bloody word he said!. Sorry about stereotyping you with your Irn bru stash and assuming everyone in a volvo was Scottish and had square sausage in their pockets. I should know better cos I have been on a course.

That would be I! Chair and handbook much appreciated, sorry about the uninteligibleness...

Having once again become separated from the rest of the SVM due to incompetence I made it home around 2030pm where something called rain had asserted itself once again. Many many thanks to all those made it the absolute best weekend of the year and it was grand meeting many new faces and catching up with more familiar ones.

So... When is SF18?

Posted

Looks like it was an ace weekend. Sorry I was unable to attend, (family commitments), but I was very pleased the previous weekend to make the acquaintance of the beige BX beater, er, I mean beauty*

I did, however, get to a 1940s weekend in Brighouse, where I saw this nice paratrooper cycle:

I bet there weren't as many people as fat as that old trout on the left in the white top back in the 1940s.

Hasn't she ever heard of rationing?
