Proton gls

1.3i 12 valve

5 speed box

4 wheels

4 doors

1 boot

questionable paintwork

Carisma 3 spoke alloys in "Aldi" white

It starts and goes reasonably well but as of today the brakes are knackered, the pedal goes to the floor and the rear brake lines are burst as they bend up the rear next to the chassis rail.

I can't be arsed trying to fix it so if anyone wants it for absolutely fuck all then come take it away.

I'll keep the alloys and fit the original steels.

I'm not expecting it to interest anyone on here but with mot until August it might be fun to thrash around knockhill a few times for a cheap track car...

You have my attention, matey ;)

*declared model fetish tho :(

Cheap car, low tax group, cheap to run. Sounds ideal. I'm interested mate. I'll see what's what and get back to you

Bloody he'll, just looked at the Mot history too. Only had 1 fail and that wasn't for anything major.

It's just a pity I've ruined the paintwork on it. I am really regretting painting it now. I've fallen out of love with it lately and would rather drive anything else, Mrs FOAD isn't a fan either.

I've come to the conclusion that it requires more effort than I'm willing to give in order to make it presentable again. It has been a great car and never let me down but I'd rather someone else got the use out of it.

The only welding I've carried out was bodging a new filler neck together with bits of old exhaust. It's not pretty but it does the job.

The sun roof has been plastered in silicone but it still lets in a little water from time to time.

I would prefer not to roffle it and it to go to someone who wants it. I'm not asking a lot for a good usable but cosmetically challenged car which could do someone a turn until the end of the summer.

Wonder if thinners would take the green off and leave the white, or would it take that off too?

OMFG!

Frantically trying to steer another AS member, local to me, towards this.

A good ole rub down and some http://marcusglenn.com/military-vehicle-paint would have this looking much more presentable in a weekend.  Someone did a van near me recently that was clearly end of life (but he wanted to feel less ashamed of his unfortunate poverty) and it came up a treat!

Good luck with it FOAD.  Your blunt honesty is appreciated by me and (I'm sure) fellow parishioners.

I actually rather want it, just because it's £100 and it would really piss off my neighbours. Alas, a lack of storage space sinks that idea.

Forgive me - but if you want to annoy them, I'd suggest not putting it in a barn 15 miles from their front room window.

VED on the monthly and on the highway it goes.

That would certainly be the car I'd drive if I was in a post apocalyptic zombie-survival computer game.

Given who is in the White House, I'd say we're there already.

Is the parent's farm tiny?

Yeah, I really can't see you buying it. £100 is probably a bit salty for you.

Up ye.

Me and 17-Coffees were genuinely interested in this, pending logistics...

Thats just fecking brilliant

How I wish I could justify running that and parking it in the street near the hospital where I work and regularly get little notes left on my car like this one....

Get a grip.

We hear the same shit from you every week about how you would love to buy whatever car is for sale then you write a lame excuse as to why you can't buy it.

I'm not going to lose sleep over you not buying a car from me so in future please just fuck off.

Thanks.

Every time you post, you infuriate me more and more. I'm generally quite a tolerant person too.

Cheap at double the price. (Would still be)

... even @3x you would have change from a Toyyo (but the same amount of wheels...) :-D

Ouch. 0-100 quicker than, say, a 530d?

I mean, if you're going to take a shot at me I don't mind. Just make more effort than referencing another thread entirely.

(aw, but I just did that myself, I'm such a hypocrite).

GLWTS. That Proton does look like it'll do somebody a good turn for a few months though.

Well, it keeps the ad at the top of the page I suppose.

What he said?

It'd take a while, but you could do it.  Depends what prep was done but it shouldn't be insurmountable.  Alternatively, key it all back and give it a fresh coat of something or wrap it.

Has potential and I'd have it myself as I'm very partial to these but (sorry FOAD) it's really bad timing as I've just got no space and time to look after it, let alone properly.

I want this just because it's 100 quid and i'm in scotland land at the end of the month. also i missed out on one about 12 months ago.

it looks so rough and unloved i want to take it away and make it lovely -  none of this would ever get done as i never have time to do anything like this but i can dream.
