From my understanding the golf is going to a loving home.

excellent.

I'm on the look out for a Birthday present for a nephew.   (aged 28)

Mainly just to wind up his other uncles who are twats

A season pass to bubbles? He would love it. Tamworth bay will know what I mean!

This could spark some dreadfully 18-rated hijacking!

A certain golf might be a lot closer to Liverpool soon and probably available

That's the spirit! I still think bubbles would be an appropriate present to piss other uncles off though

then am looking for a petrol engined Transit  Sherpa minibus, or similar, even a Zafira Freight-Rover/Meriva LDV

The minibus Transit Sherpa would be the best option in an ideal world.

FTFY ;)

Well that is the Golf going to a good home via The Moog.

Volvo anyone?

Mercury anyone?

Would anyone be willing to list the Mercury on eBay for me please?

Ken.

More than happy to list the Mercury for you, but everyone will have to help out with the text / location etc.

Busy all day tomorrow, so probably not going to be till late tomorrow evening.

However sometimes better to list for 10 days from 20:00 on Thursday evening, so auction finishes 20:00 Sunday evening.

Pm me some details and I'll try and write/compile a for sale spiel.

Volvo for £125??

Seriously tempted by this to use for a couple of months and then roffle for £2 a pop

Where are you again?

Posted

That's grand Dave thank you. EBay is a long story, will tell later.

I am happy to do some notes and so on, although likely tomorrow. Happy to go with your lead re: listing.

The Volvo is in a barn near to Chelmsford. It is MOT'd.

Ken I'll speak to my Dad at lunch time about the Volvo. Sounds like it could do him a job.

Well fuck me. I refitted the old switch just in case and the bloody thing is happy again! New switch was obv wrong in some way. However, for some reason the centre section of the exhaust is blowing. That is easily sorted via my steam engine owning mate. Reprieve for the Golf?

Just to elaborate, the Mercury is indeed one fine car. The electronic issues were fixed by me (at great expense) and the car is a good and solid old girl. The engine/transmission oils, plugs ,filters and such were all renewed and the car is a delight to waft around in. The cruise control does indeed work. Fuel consumption on the trip from Lytham to Essex was around 31mpg. The seats are the most comfortable seats of ever. 3.0 litre V6 engine and FWD . My advice would be just buy it. You wont be dissapointed am sure. It has the feeling that it will go on for ever!

Great for weddings/prom nights or whatever!

It is very wafty, seats are electrically adjustable and they work!

That Mercury is such a nice car that if I had the pennies, I'd be on the train now to collect it.  Until I had to start chasing faults it was bloody brilliant, so now BTB has done all that, and then some, it's brilliant again.

Nice ad on gumtree Ken, just a couple of points, the mileage is listed as 999,999, which, unless you have driven an extra 900k is a tad wrong. Also listed as RWD when obv it is FWD.

Not being picky, just helpful! (I hope.)

😄

Bugger on the RWD. I couldn't recall the bloody mileage lol. I will be at the barn at the weekend and will get the real reading hehehehe.

Shame I didn't see the mercury Ken. Hope it goes OK with ebay though. I'll get down to see you at some point in the near future.
