Just completed the first leg. 15 mile cycle out of dartmoor to Plymouth station. The fog and drizzle soon became full pelt rain. which I didnt plan for. So I'm sat in the station cafe in my own puddle at the mo; but I'm on time and in the words of D ream, things can only get better (I hope)

To say your not off to a good start would be an understatement then,

(Things can only get better)

Was that not Tony Blair that said that ?

Well done thus far!

You've already ticked off many modes of transport and are therefore winning!

Now slumped on the train, nobody has sat next to me as I look like a vagrant and have been going around barefoot after wringing out my socks and sticking them on a radiator.

Can we have a clue?

If only they knew I was going to pick up some cherman engineering. I should say 80% cherman engineering, as at least 20% has oxidised, in lots of odd places like half way up a door skin etc.

Yes he ruined on of my favourite songs. Every time it comes on I picture him with a big cheesy grin greeting hordes of deluded people by Downing Street. Cringe.

I dunno, rust halfway up a door-skin sounds distinctly Vauxhall to me, or rather Opel. Maybe a Monza? I think even the Omegas enjoyed rusting in stupid places.

Winter on a pushbike I know, I know, its serious.

Heaven knows, he's miserable now.

I say Vito.

I'm with the E class group on this one. Plenty of room in boot for the bike and mine used to return to nature in odd places as well!

I'm going to go with a C Class estate ironically purchased in the UK whilst in Germany .

I was going to say E Class as well, but i will change it to a C Class Estate? Just going by the rust halfway up the door comment...

Train 2. Drying off here and some very impressive detective skills Norfolknweigh. Nailed it even down to the country I was In when I agreed to buy the old tub in question

I would have preferred an e class, but this was very cheap (and very rusty)

Why pamper life's complexities

When the leather runs smooth

On the passenger's seat?

I don't know whether I'm getting jaded by this car buying malarkey. Spend peanuts and trust someone you've never met before to be honest. Why do we do it to ourselves? I wonder if ive got some sort of compulsive personality disorder if something like that exists. ( ends post to google it)

Wouldnt that be more creased and cracked through greater use and therefor less smooth?

Good point, maybe that's what he means by life's complexities.

Idea for a TV programe. Join Michael Portillo as he journeys on the rail network with an original edition of JALOPY to pick up an ill advised car purchase.

Im not even that excited. More blind hope that it has no terminal mechanical issues that will see it blow up on the M5.

Exeter st David's achieved.
