Dick Cheeseburger Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Spotted this beauty on KnobFace just now now; I thought I'd share on here in case anyone is looking for a good looking Italian lass. Looks lovely for the money. Can't see it'll hang around for very long - it was listed two hours ago. spike60, Asimo, Braddon81 and 6 others 9
Tamworthbay Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 If only I had the space, that is gorgeous.
NorfolkNWeigh Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Presumably this is Sixcylinder's mate's car. He's the man to ask , as he was considering it himself.
Asimo Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I hate it when these pop up for sale............ There seems to have been a rash of cars for sale without calipers (but calipers available - just need fitting) I wonder if this is just to stop punters having a drive and finding out how bad it is? tooSavvy 1
sierraman Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Looks a nice car that, again who gets mid way through taking the brakes off then leaves it?
worldofceri Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Take brakes apart, discover calipers are seized, realise re-con calipers are £££...?
vulgalour Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Is that not actually £2000 for TWO Gammas? If so, then deffo a barg. saucedoctor and Dick Cheeseburger 2
capsuleboy Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 You can have my lovely saloon for the same if you like...having just too many cars stressing me out... Skizzer 1
John F Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Do these have the same callipers as a 1982 Beta HPE? If so, a mate of mine has a full set available off a 24,000 mile car.
carlo Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 The number of these for sale where the owners seem to have given up is quite alarming!
sierraman Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Expensive to restore and difficult to sell. That's why. saucedoctor 1
chaseracer Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Call Martin Buckley on C&SC. He seems to have most of the others.
garethj Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Having no brake calipers does get you around the difficult issue of "Would sir like to take it for a test drive?"
Tamworthbay Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 That's what handbrakes are for. tooSavvy 1
Skizzer Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 That one does look very familiar. Doom blue with herring-gull's-arse grey roof doesn't do it any favours. Normally I start frothing at Gamma Coupes but that one leaves me unmoved, sadly. Can't be doing with another project.

Six-cylinder Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I don't think it is rotten, to be honest the yard was too muddy to check the underside but Steve the owner will let you do that in the barn but bring a torch. Topside looks clean and tidy until you examine it and there are lots of small rust spots, just small but quite a few to deal with, some of them are difficult like the one coming from under the windscreen trim. The boot lid has some nasty rust in it. Inside looks as good as you could hope, if you like blue! Engine wise I was told it was a good starting, good running car, when I looked at it it was hard to start and ran like a pig. They did knock the distributor cap when fitting the battery so may have damaged that. I have know Steve for nearly 30 years so if he said it was running OK I am happy it was. It ran so rough I could not tell what the engine was like. Brakes, there are no callipers fitted to the car! You do get a second car as part of the deal that has all the brakes but the callipers still may need reconditioning. The spars car is pretty bad, engine, head lights and windscreen taken, interior trashed rust on body. I still think it will be worth having. The car is located near Banbury. Steve wants £2000 for both cars and I am sure he will get it, I would have taken it on but I have just too many projects. (sobered up!) Give Steve a call and have a chat with him, he is easy too talk too, loves cars and has make enough dumb purchases to be one of us! Skizzer, Dick Cheeseburger and Tamworthbay 3
Six-cylinder Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Call Martin Buckley on C&SC. He seems to have most of the others. Martin had the engine etc out of the spares car.
