#Blingo99 in MOT FAIL shocker...

Agree you've done the right thing by keeping this, but if you ever do get shut and want to replace it, the Kangoo is a worthy competitor for space and drive. Mind you, mine was a petrol, not sure how long a diesel would last before it ate its injectors and chewed the fuel pump up.

I know quite a few happy Kangoo owners, including Mat_the_cat. I believe the passenger wiper arc actually meets the driver's wiper arc too. #happywipergeek

That does pee me off when manufacturers don't change them for RHD too.

Couldnt let this thread die without a pic of our old Bingo.

I actually bought new wheel trims for this when we got it as the original ones were scuffed and cracked.

Note the additional aerials - the rear one was for PMR and the side glass mount one for telemetry for the ECG. It was an ex NHS out of hours vehicle and though three years old had led a hard life. It was however dirt cheap and had air con. Had an additional battery point in the boot and mains inverter circuit with double socket in the boot too.

Bloody loved that car. Part Ex-ed for a Zafira 7 seater of doom :(

Wish mine had aircon!  I wonder if it can be retrofitted.

I quite fancy one of these things.  Did they do one with a pokey petrol engine?

Early ones could be had with the 1800 petrol engine used in the ZX & Xantia.

Question for those who know MOT rules: though it failed Monday's test, the current ticket is good until January 1st.  Can I still use it?

Just to be on the safe side you'd better ask on the Mumsnet .

Ours has the 1.6 16V pez motor, it's quite peppy though it's very '16 valvy' so bugger-all torque low down.  It's a good steer but somehow reminds me of driving around in an empty DIY store, probably because all our other cars are so cramped in comparison.

Lucky I checked with IM Axles yesterday because they'd forgotten to send it, despite taking a chunk out of my credit card last week.

Anyway, it arrived at 9.00 this morning and when I called at Tame Mechanic's modern and glamorous premises earlier, the Blingo was up on the ramp with its arse hanging out.  The fasteners are fighting him all the way (because old & French) and there are some crusty bits starting on the underside which will need minor attention soon.

Otherwise, not bad.
