Mot till Nov. '17, 2 litre petrol (EJ20) engine, manual box. 121,000 miles. Low to mid 30s MPG. Subaru serviced for most of it's life, me serviced for last few years. Not a quick car but hard to beat for long drives on shitty winter roads. When there is snow, the proper 4wd is great, even on the Vectra-repellant Nexen summer tyres. (Which seem fine to me)

Everything works except the trip computer and the start position of the ignition key.
(Starter button now fitted. Special concealed security feature) This causes a fault code / puts EML light on.
Due for a cambelt change. Minor scuffs and scratches from car parks and hedges. Small dents on the bonnet from where a sheep jumped on it. Never been polished, often jetwashed and hoovered.

That looks good value for a monkey, even with the issues.  Interestingly, the Legacies I've owned, and the MV and the Justy, have all been brilliant in the snow even with shite tyres (barely legal on the Justy), but the SVX, with nearly new quality rubber all round, was completely useless.

Nice car, great price, shame it's manual (for me) but I bet that flies away. Good luck with the sale. :)

Car is near Hereford, a few miles from West end of M50.

Narrow tyres vs. wide tyres I guess.

Narrow tyres vs. wide tyres I guess.

Possibly, but the Legacy GTB was on 205s all round - iIrc the SVX was only on 225s.  And the 205s on the GTB were Chinese shite with zero grip, as I found when I took the car to Marham.

The ratio of width to length of the contact patch seems to matter too, so a 205 tyre on a 19" wheel is better than a 205 tyre on a 13" rim given similar sidewall heights. Just like in sand.

Or it could be SVX's are shit in snow....

To be fair to the SVX, there is apparently a fuse you can remove which locks the centre diff, which I never tried - it might have managed better if I had.

Someone buy this please, to sort me for a bottle of red a week for a couple of years......

That's some piece of kit for 500 notes.

I've spent this week looking for a clean low miler outback or forester and stuff the same sort of year is 4 or 5 times the price.

That's a great looking car and bargain of the week. I'm looking forward to trying my Impreza out in the snow, if we get any this year.

Picked this up yesterday .....

It's a great car and I'm really pleased with it.

Rory was a top man to deal with and gets top marks for being so patient as I didn't collect it for 10 days due to lack of space and waiting for the T5 to be collected.....

And to make the deal even sweeter the Radio was tuned to R4 ...... Winna!!
