Am on the lookout for the above, but unfortunately am fussy and cannae really be doing with either Renault or Vauxhall.

Got a few quids, but not loads.

And the rest of the day etc..

Mouseflake's post on the ebay thread should fit the bill:

http://autoshite.com/topic/22597-ebay-tat-volume-3/?p=1076851

Ha ha cheers - yeah just looked at that, but to be honest, it's a trade ad and at that price I suspect it would be hiding many amazing and hideous gremlins... Current car off the road too so going to check it out would be difficult!

I got massively burnt by a trader before - the one and only time i bought from one.  Scarred for life!

Anyone know anything about Seat Alhambras?  Apart from the obvious VAG fail points, are they particularly terrible in any way?  Have been keeping an eye on one round here...

How about a nice Citroen Picasso?

..... /joke

:-D

I have to be honest - they are on my radar - due to price and availability.  But they also sound like trouble.

Dad had a Sharan (first gen shape) as a company car once. Was nice to (v plate so 1998?) 11 year old me... I remember him moaning how heavy the seats were when removed and how much space they took up in the garage though.

It's not alive now though, wether that tells you something about durability I dunno, V517DDC RIP. I went abroad for the first time in it (drove to a centre parcs in Belgium, and it took us to disneyland paris a few years on the trot

What about a Disco 300 TDi? They're actually very nice to drive, seat seven (if they have the dicky seats in the boot fitted), and you won't have to suffer the pussywhipped / McMong image.

Fuel economy* is not as crap as you'd imagine at 25-ish mixed, low 30s motorway.

XUD powered Citroen Synergie / Peugeot 806? More space than a Picasso and not as common -

Yup, am watching a Synergie on t'bay....

Am after 1.9 tops - just to try and keep insurance at the same level (?), and budget is probably 700 clams tops.

Alhambra is not a bad car, Great carrying capacity, drives ok once you accept its no hatchback and is relatively quiet on the motorway, 1.9 is pretty bulletproof and can be enhanced for £ not a lot which makes it quicker than most people expect. Used to run mine which was a 1998 model on 50-50 fresh veg too. If I had to drive a people carrier now this is the one I would choose....

Citroen synergie or Peugeot 806 (mk1) van derived people carrier. Great bus. Seat Alhambra and vw sharan are good. Vw tiguan and Renault are shite! As are zafira etc!

Hang on a second.... That arselifted Sharon... I've just realised where I've seen Vulgalours rear lights before!

Am bidding on the foxy-as-fuck Synergie at the mo.  Want level = eleventy billion....

We used one of these when they were brand new - hire car for an anarcho- punk band I was in - European tour '96.  It was just class.  Heavy wantage ever since!

Had this one so far for 4 trouble-free years and are keeping it (unless an offer that can't be refused, obv) and aside from expected wear and tear it's been great.  Now on 155k, still on daily wife usage
