Junkman Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 A bit closer to home is this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182269100065 Yes, I know, it's not really 100% cow free, but the seller is actually the Keighley bus museum and if there is one thing I know, then it's that they are not deliberately trying to shaft me.Isn't Cavcraft's buddy looking for one of these? So what the bloody hell is he waiting for? An invitation letter signed by the fucking Queen, or what? Oh, I just worked against me... oldcars, mrbenn and Vince70 3
billyboy406v6 Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I have never seen one of those Jeeps with vegetarian seats. I'm not saying they don't exist, just that I have never seen one. Also, there is still a huge difference between those and old Range Rovers. They neither have the refinement, nor the class only Spen King could create.Yes, a Range Rover also has live axles, but they are mounted to the frame in a way no other car has matched hitherto, or ever will. And also yes, I know they are getting a bit pricey (for a reason!), so is a Skizzer spec Discovery not the thinking man's Range Rover? And thanks for all the suggestions, I do appreciate them. No, honestly, I do.But am I really the only one on this forum, who appreciates impeccable brown and beige Talbot Solaras? Talk to me, please! Besides, there is this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252562904369 But after the episode with the XM, which left me seriously traumatised (I am NOT kidding)I just don't have the guts to call on the SVM at this time.Yes a caravan on site with Solara parked next to it under a sheet would be a G8 winter solution. Happy camping !!
scruff Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Blue one looks a bit "projecty". I like those late (not early as seller says) 3.5 EFi jobs, very sweet sounding exhaust and just posh enough. You can't beat a proper RR but sad to say they generally pretty pricey now and there is an awful lot of shit out there. This is one reason three of us went to buy one in Portugal last December (also: because two door). I don't like Discos but a well specced V8 one is pretty much the same as a late Classic inside anyway, they've even got the same basic dash. Vince70 and Junkman 2
LC Torana Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 These are so terrible, I'd rather have no car at all. And therefore a must-have. Junkman 1
oldcars Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 If only i had 3k, could have this and the Sierra pickup. Shame your selling but totally agree why. I hate running nice stuff in the winter, up hear you can hear it dissolving.. Junkman 1
anonymous user Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Don't rule anything out just because it has leather upholstery, the solution is at hand Mr_Bo11ox, Junkman, Barry Cade and 6 others 9
Junkman Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 A very positive solution has been found in regard to the Talbot.I shall leave it to the buyer to clue you in. Craig the Princess, Vince70 and oldcars 3

Junkman Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 ^^Wimp! Anyway, a decision has been made and a downpayment left.Again, thank you all for your suggestions.
Tayne Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Anything that's had its suspension gutted should be avoided, it will likely have been owned by the kind of backwards idiot who'd replace rubber tyres with cast iron once the rubber wore out. Conrad D. Conelrad, Asimo, Junkman and 4 others 7
anonymous user Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Anyway, a decision has been made and a downpayment left. and it's a? (I think it's a Hardly-Likely Two-Stroke Shooting Brake) Junkman 1

Junkman Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 and it's a? shite! It'll help to further reduce the shite/hero points overdraft I accumulated by chickening out of the XM purchase. It's only 60 miles away, but the thought of the collection thread alone makes my blood curdle. dome 1

trigger Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Got to be honest a F reg RR 3.5 was one of the only times in my life that i got travel sick whilst actually driving a car, that and repairing that rotten rear window surround still make me feel 'meh' about these things. RoadworkUK and Junkman 2

So what the bloody hell is he waiting for? An invitation letter signed by the fucking Queen, or what? Oh, I just worked against me...That lovely Range Rover has now gone junkman can we expect a colleckshun Fred anytime soon.. I really didn't know you could get a decent low mileage Range Rover for that money. The only problem with it is it's bloody metallic green which going by my car history was the only colour that you could get between 93/97 but saying that I'm yet to have a motor in that colour which has rot so maybe it's a good omen that it's a rust free motor. The only time I've ever been in one the same as that was when I got my Citroen stuck down an unmade road and nothing could get the car out of the mud to my fathers next door neighbour popped along in his 97 model and the thing pulled my car out on near tick over,it even managed to bend the tow hook on mine with the amount of torque it had. Junkman Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 That lovely Range Rover has now gone junkman can we expect a colleckshun Fred anytime soon.. Yes. Skizzer Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 The brave shiter's choice, rewarded by a shiter-friendly price. That looks like a very civilised way to yomp back and forth across the Peak District through the winter: may it serve you well. Junkman 1
scruff Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 If you're going to have one it might as well be the 4.6 Hope it goes well JM. Junkman 1
Vince70 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Can you get a cheap LGP conversion for one of those as a mate I knew fitted one on A V8 Range Rover classic and he really did get champagne motoring for lemonade money. He was like yourself and very good with the spanners and V8 range rovers and land rovers were his thing. That really does look like a real nice straight motor and a real bargain.
Junkman Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 Can you get a cheap LGP conversion for one of those No.

The only problem I have with these, and it is indeed the only problem I have with them, is that I would constantly have the feeling, that I bought only the second shitest.
Tayne Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Yes. Went and looked at it and just couldn't resist. As an added bonus* the suspension warning light is on.WCPGW?May I recommend the EAS Kicker. https://blackbox-solutions.com/products.html I found mine very handy and ended up selling it to another p38 owner after I got rid of mine. You're also going to need 4 suspension airbags, a rebuild kit for the valve block and a compressor seal.
Tayne Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Actually, I might still have some parts kicking around...
garbaldy Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I think it would prefer coil's to be honest at least they wouldn't throw up the doom light every time anything was towed.
Tayne Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 You realise that everything in the supermarket (and almost all other shops) was delivered in air sprung delivery lorry. It's not the system that's the problem, it's the lack of maintenance from cheap council estate drug dealer types who buy 7-10 year old Range Rovers. richardthestag 1
dome Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 You sir, are fucking mental. That makes the XM look like a sensible choice! 4 and 15 in the roffle please. Junkman 1
