Dollywobbler's Honda S-MX - Provisionally sold

Why did you go for discs with a different offset ? Are normal pattern ones not available for it ? Seems alot of potential aggro for no gain

It's a kit offered by the only SMX specialist, because genuine discs are horrifically expensive.

Could anyone be tempted at £850? Shiters discount might apply. Brakes now fine, MOT June, solid, not as thirsty as you'd expect (well, with me driving it anyway), time has surely come to move on.

eBay classified for £1000 should get you that. I'd say that's on the cheap side too.

But that means dealing with The Public. Even worse, The Public Who Use Ebay!

I've found on four occasions that a well written/photographed and intentionally slightly overpriced Classified Ad with a phone number and the 'make offer' button turned off actually only attracts serious buyers, as they actually have to go to the effort of typing out a message and such. If people are talking money before viewing as well, they're an instant no. Even worked for the Rover 200 and that was just a cheap runaround.

With a specialist* vehicle out of the mainstream like an SMX, you're only going to get people enquiring that already know more or less what it is too anyway, I certainly found that selling my 740.

Thought I had some interest but alas, the distance card got played. I might take a cheeky offer on this one. I could do with vacating a space for whatever returns from the Bulgaria trip...

That said, I'm not utterly desperate. In fact, the Honda will probably be clocking up some business miles next week given that the Starlet is currently broken.

Price drop. Spent the weekend driving many miles in it, which made me not want to sell it again, but something has to give! Too many cars, not enough space/money.

£750 anyone?

I'm chasing leaks at the moment I think. Block looks very damp, and it dripped a bit when parked up at the British Motor Museum, but then the level seems to have dropped hardly at all in 250 miles of driving. Must be some spot its leaking from that I haven't found yet.

Cool. Not sure where you are, but there's a free lift on offer on Monday from Northamptonshire to The West.

The SMX has a really small "footprint".

What's the three door she currently drives?? If it's a Focus I bet the SMX is smaller.

Had the same issue years ago with the wife. We bought a Scenic which she thought was massive, till I showed her it was the same size as her previous car, just taller. She loved that car as had a great driving position.

Yup. Honda is surprisingly small, but also surprisingly large at the same time. It's basically a Tardis on wheels. Footprint is almost identical to an MG3.

I think I may need to open this up to really cheeky offers. We're one month from Bulgaria. I have far too many cars. HELP! Save me from Ebay!

I dunno man, asking for vey cheeky offers on a forum full tight wads and insolvents could end up with some prick offering you like four hundred pounds. And about 24 other pounds that I just counted out in coins from the other halfs holiday savings piggy bank.

Hoorah! A starting point!

You've got to be joking. I've got bills to pay.

Well depending on how Brown Trout cogbox serving goes, I may be further motivated.

Well, the end is in sight. One final wash for this funky minivan. I think I might actually miss it.

I drive it to Bath on Friday, where the new owners will collect it and take it to a new life down Sussex way.

I hope I didn't buy it in a moment of drunken shittering the other day .... please tell me I didn't.

I will have 2 raffle tickets when the Sussex owner wants to move it on though
