DeeJay alerted me to Alfa Romeos. Can't be doing with GTVs, but this sounds tempting. How safe is it to drive a car with knackered from springs? That's one pretty estate.

The front suspension set up in these looks like a world of pain- offset souble wishbone with little/ no access to the top bolts.

I'd recommend getting one with decent suspension - and a 5cyl 2.4jtd

QX does look quality though  quite like the colour myself.

I'm sat ready to chuck a bid in at the appropriate moment, which is sadly not for some hours yet. I did just watch a beige X-Type sell for £345 and just about managed to stop myself bidding! It was a 2.1 manual, so hardly ideal spec.

Alfa leather seats look amazing.

 

The QX looks like a possible good purchase. You might also get to say hello to the police Interceptors as they always seem to be prowling in Slough.

Drizzle really isn't going to cut it. The QX is now at £102 with just under three hours left. I have a vague idea of what I'm going to bid myself but given the advert, I don't think I'll be risking a lot on it.

 

Still watching the S-MX that's on Ebay, so if I don't win the QX, I might chuck an offer in on the S-MX instead.

It's up to £200 now. Looks like one person is trying to find out what the highest bid is, as he's chucked about 15 bids on in the past 20 minutes.

 

EDIT - ooh, QX has a timing chain. That might affect what I'm prepared to pay.
