Trumped!

Mrs Smellypoo's mum works as a teaching assistant in a school - as such, whenever they have a refresh/clearout of stuff, she usually gets a look-in on anything that's going to be ditched.

A few weeks back I was gifted these little lovelies - she thought I might like them... She wasn't wrong!

I just wanted to share. Anyone up for me to post a card a day, sort of trivia nobody needs to know nor will ever find useful but wants anyway? Or is that just a stupid idea?

In fact, I had the exotic cars set when I was a kid...you were always onto a winner if you had the Vector card!

Fuckin teachers! I knew they kept stuff for themselves, when they confiscated them. I bet my1978 Top Trumps Rally Cars have made a pretty penny on eBay for Mr Rees from Aberaeron school.

I want to shake the hand of what ever kid brought those into school, there's a future autoshiter if I've ever seen one!

The parents need a pat on the back for educating their children correctly

Yep definitely do it

Excellent. Tomorrow will be day one of the Top Trumps Gallery. Each deck has been shuffled, a card will be selected pseudo-randomly (not truly random as I will put any picked card to the bottom of that deck and I will choose from one of the 3 decks each day (weekday).

Top idea...When you run out let me know, I have a few decks in a drawer at home.  All proper, clear plastic case ones like these..

Will do - I'll carry on until each card has been shared, then it'll be over to you! :)

A Ginetta!! In exotics --they are having a giraffe, I had one and it was the least reliable piece of shite I have ever owned (and I've had an allegro)

The Vector's actual name was W8, too... still, let's not be pedants.

I love that Turbo Cars pack has a never-turbocharged NSX on the front!

A also wonder whether kids were baffled when, expecting a pack full of supercars, a Rover 800 turned up.

Actually, I guess the Rover was from the Exotic Cars pack.

I had a dragster set of these. Most were American funny cars but there was a MK1 Escort. Back then in about 1983, I loved these, before scene kicked in!

Oops - sorry should have been a bit more awake this morning. Day one...

Pedant alert....it was never Nissan 200zx it was 200sx

Oh, there are many, many more 'pedant-friendly' moments in these decks!

They do look rather nice though. Never been in/driven one.. and they're pretty rare compared to some of the other 'exotics' in there...

The Rover is certainly rare these days! Does that count as exotic?

I had the non exotic set. If you ended up with the 2CV, you won via max RPMs.

You'd have double vision from the vibration and be deaf from the noise by 85mph.

Has anyone ever seen one of these off-road? I certainly haven't, I used to see loads of them a few years ago acting as Previa alternatives (usually in gold and green), but that's about it.

Fail. I'm at a client site and forgot to take a pic of one of the cards and upload before I left home. Will be after 5pm for next card. I'm useless. I'm sorry.

Note to self: save a load on your phone and upload from that.

In my wild Land Rovering days roaming various off-road sites for mag articles there were usually one or two at Pay n' Play days. Tracksuits and trainers compulsory. As good as anything else of it's ilk really. Front suspension doesn't have much travel but they do have a rear locking diff which compensates a little.

I've only ever seen these parked next to double axle caravans.
