Shetland Classic Motor Show - June 2016

As I have mentioned in my van restoration thread, I attended the Shetland Classic Motor Show. It was held on the 4th & 5th June and we incorporated it into a 2 week trip up to Scotland and Northern England. We spent 4 days on Shetland, arriving on the Thursday morning and leaving after the show on Sunday. The organisation was first class and the welcome from the locals was wonderful. There were about 200 cars in total and as many, if not more, motorbikes. There were trucks, buses, vans and tractors. And not forgetting pushbikes too...

 

I took my 900T van, whilst my mate took his shabby but original Mini 1275GT...

Great to see an Eighties Mini looking as it should...Original Shetland (PS identifier) car too.

 

 

Mintola Rialto van is Shetland supplied too.

The reg of this Renault 12 is actually LST 253P. The plates that are on it are a tribute to a similar but rotten one the owner saw on Shetland in 1992...

What a great selection, any idea how many are resident and how many are just visiting?

Inside that leisure centre has to be one of the strangest venues for a car show I've seen. The white Allegro certainly gets about as I've seen it down here in Northamptonshire and it's been to Le Mans in the past.
