I've got one of these basic Autel ms309 OBDII code readers, if anyone wants to plug it in to their post '96 car on the saturday...

The thing is, a guy in a garage with a code reader has already had a bash at receiving codes from the Signum and it refused to find any.

 

The EML light is definitely on, and sometimes it stays off and comes on when the car is halfway through it's journey, and it's triggered by a code (one would assume).

 

I did make him keep it in 2nd gear and take it up to 50mph the other day. After a hesitation and stutter it went for it and the amount of soot was absolutely biblical.....

Aye, of course I don't mind bringing it north if it wants to come. 

I could leave it with Marty_Womble in Preston if it's easier to collect it from there as I'll be carting a moped up to him on the way home.

If it's anything like my 2.2DTi then clean the EGR valve as the Italian tune up may not do much to clean up the EGR valve.
