Peugeot 104

That's the ex-Stondon one and several shiters have been up close and personal with it. Seems to be stuck in the endless cycle of hopeful traders but a little bit of research will reveal what it actually owes them (some way short of the reserve I imagine)

I went to school (when it was raining) in a 5 door 104 in the exact colour (but round lights). Of course as we only got a lift in the rain, I would have to pass my mum the hairdryer through the window to pre heat the ignition... With the old man didn't just replace the leads and whatnot is anyone's guess.

Lovely, but isn't that drivers door a bit crusty on the website?

A mate can't get his LHD lights thru an OMT with silly deflectors so are you going to be stuffed with those headlights?

Fantastic colour though!

My mum had one of these new. JJP744V, I think it was. Beige 104ZR.

The things that stick in my mind about it are that the ZR's tweedy seats were incredibly itchy, that it was always a bastard to start even from new, and those rear seats are as small as you'd imagine.

My Argenta passed the MOT with beam deflectors on its LHD headlights.

First girl I was ever seriously in love with had a 104SR, I had a Hillman Imp. I never learned....

I have been looking for a 104 but I want the earlier one with the chrome bumpers that are still quite common in France. It would be nice if they have done the same as the 204 with the headlights where you just twist the bulb between lhd and rhd

A mate wants to get some unsilly deflectors and/or said tester to RTFM, then give the tester a boot in the bag.

Masks or converter kits may be fitted to right

hand dip headlamps to temporarily alter the lamp for

use in the UK by removing the beam ‘kick-up’ to the

right.

A headlamp altered in this way is not a reason for

rejection, if:

a. the headlamp aim is not rejected for the

reasons listed under diagram 1 (except that

the top of the beam image will be a straight

line)

b. the light output is not unduly reduced - not

usually a problem with commercially

produced kits

c. the mask or converter is securely attached.

When I was young one of our scout leaders had a copper coloured one on a Y plate.

The first time I ever saw Jaeger instruments.

I had a 1978 "S reg" 104GL 5 door as a daily drive a about 8 years ago, sold it on when the drive shafts were past it.  It got wrecked by the next owner and appeared on ebay with a smashed window, and no longer showing up on DVLA so looks like it now contains Heinz.

This was it: https://flic.kr/p/9JBom8

Would purr along at 80 all day on the motorway, it had 90k on the clock and drove like new.

Yes, the doors on this orange one look crusty so begs the question what's the rest of it like but being so rare, and with an MOT would you care?  has it had some new paint blown over it?

Mate of an Ex-GF had a red floppy top version. I fancied her a fair bit as well but there you go.

I don't believe 'no reserve' exists most of the time. This sold for £1300 plus premium at Brightwells and I doubt anything has been done to it since. About on the money I reckon

I was at Brightwells hoping to pick this 104 up for a few hundred quid, after seeing the condition that's all it was worth. When it sold at £1300 I was really shocked, especially after speaking with new owners who bought it to flip at Coys of London a few months later.

I had a feeling the guys had made a mistake and were not going to make any money on the old 104. Seems I was right, the car later sold at Coys for £1000. Looks to have gone to a good home after finding out who the new owner was from club Peugeot UK.
