mitsisigma01 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I PM'd you about them for the red base, but I still don't mind picking them up for this car.Hi , I still can't find any PMs ..... I did get a reply from bornite , I don't know if he told you . If you would like them I would like £60 , if you don't mind waiting a while for them I can deliver them to you as I will be coming your way once I get my old tank thru the mot .On a separate subject , do you know of a mitsubihi 3000 gt specialist up near Southend area please .Cheers ,Dave
danthecapriman Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Excellent write up BI, it does look a really good honest car. It can't be much longer that these cars sell so cheaply either!Your plan to just use it sounds good, it's pretty much what I'd do with it. Some cars do just need leaving alone and enjoying as they are. All I would suggest, is give it a good dose of cavity wax and underseal on the floors etc, just to keep it as sound as it is and prevent any rot setting in.
BorniteIdentity Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 As posted in the News 24 Thread - a few of us got together yesterday evening for a little 'Date Night'. "LCR" is running pretty well at the moment. Annoyingly, "SeanRG" spotted that the reverse lights have packed up and gone home - so they'll need investigating when I get the chance. lisbon_road Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Looks good. That webber carb will make all the difference. Looking at that line up, I want to MOT and tax mine to put it on the end. BorniteIdentity 1

BorniteIdentity Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 All being well, The Sierra and I have a date on Friday night. Mrs BI is also making noises about coming: and with this in mind I've decided to fix the things she'd have a 'sense of humour failure' over. 1. The car can change lanes if you brake. (warped discs)2. Heater is as effective as a writing implement as it is at heating.3. No reverse lights.4. Tracking hilariously out. Friendly garage will have the lot sorted by lunchtime, so all being well you'll see Triggerâ„¢ Woollarding it on Friday night in my home county of Suffolk. CGSB, danthecapriman, egg and 10 others 13
fordperv Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Are they replacing the heater rad or just flushing? I have found mostly that they are usually that blocked they need replacing, they aren't that expensive and are easy to fit. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-SIERRA-HEATER-RADIATOR-Matrix-1982-1993-/181915859627?fits=Model%3ASierra&hash=item2a5b07baab:m:myY-f5GALlyCKeilMOq5VIw

In other news the reverse switch is borked... and the dealer are apparently fresh out of 1982 Sierra spares. Drum roll... Dick Cheeseburger 1

BorniteIdentity Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Sierra's looking good BI.Did you ever get a new gear knob? Not yet. I've had two offers at £15... one guy reckons he has an entire brown interior as well so I need to investigate him further. I need a few bits like a door bin and parcel shelf mount. danthecapriman 1

trigger Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Hi, it's tomorrow evening from 6.30pm. The address is The Shipwreck pubShotley GateIpswichSuffolkIP9 1QJ Hope to see you there, I'm planning on taking the Astra on it's maiden voyage and i think Mrs T might be taking the Audi. At the moment it looks like we might have around 150 cars going!
trigger Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 So who's going to be buying this one then?! Not me even though it's on my doorstep! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162075442165 Cavcraft 1
BorniteIdentity Posted May 20, 2016 Author Posted May 20, 2016 There's a nice car under all that chintz. I think.
SeanRG Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 It's beige and a MK1. I feel like I have to.Fortunately the bank account says otherwise - phew, that was a close one.
BorniteIdentity Posted June 19, 2016 Author Posted June 19, 2016 UPDATE: I've been using this car every weekend for the last couple of months, and it's great fun. It turns SO many heads it's unreal - it's actually a bit embarassing! (Especially if you like to travel incognito as us celebrities so often like to) (!) Since purchase, I've spent £360 on making it stop straight, making it point straight, making the reverse lights illuminate, new gearknob and a few other bits. However, I don't think it's a long term proposition for me, and that makes me really really sad. It is a fantastic car, and I absolutely LOVE the fact it still exists (and in such good condition),But it doesn't really offer me anthing different from what I already have "on fleet". So it's time to see who might like to take it on. Sorry to sound like one of "those w**kers" - but I'm not desperate to see it go. After all, it's the oldest Ford Sierra left on the road in a rare colour and in lovely condition. But if someone here wants to take it on, and promises to cherish it, then I'm happy to sell/swap. There are a good number of pictures of the car on FLICK™ - just search "LCR 503Y" Car is in Cambridgeshire - I can deliver to Suffolk/Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire easily enough. I'd be interested in anything "Jap retro" or convertible or just a bit different. Value I think is £1000-£1250. We can argue about that later. Thoughts? greengartside Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 God I'd funking love that! SWMBO may say different.
BorniteIdentity Posted June 19, 2016 Author Posted June 19, 2016 God I'd funking love that! SWMBO may say different. Of course she will. You only have to read back through the thread to see how much grief my dearly beloved gave me. "I swear Daniel if you've bought another fucking car I'm leaving you today". Needless to say I had the last laugh, and they're both still here. That said, only one of them is currently offering me "overnight accomodation".... cort1977, UltraWomble, chaseracer and 1 other 4
Fabergé Greggs Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Hopefully you don't want a freshly ticketed BX TZD estate and we can all just continue our lives as normal and pretend I didn't even consider writing these words.

Thanks very much, but I think its replacement will be one of three things 1) 80s Jap (Starlet/Cherry etc)2) Convertible (X/Y reg MR2 in green would be 11/10)3) A lovely example of something I had when I was younger and with hair. Thanks nonetheless man. Fabergé Greggs 1

It looks a little gem, GLWTS He'll be at Cars on the Green this afternoon - probably hasn't seen it. That said, he might also not want it! It's a lovely car, but I remember how long that white one (I think Ken has it now) was hanging around.
