1982 Ford Sierra L (The oldest one left)

It's a lovely car, and I really like the colour too. I'd love to have this but I have very little room and my Capri resto is extracting money from my wallet at an alarming rate at the mo. Plus I keep having urges to buy another Volvo 740 or 240.

Anyway I'm out I'm afraid but good luck on the sale, hopefully someone on here will take it on.

I've found something that I'm half interested in - so delivery possible in East Mids too.

Thanks very much, but I think its replacement will be one of three things

1) 80s Jap (Starlet/Cherry etc)

2) Convertible (X/Y reg MR2 in green would be 11/10)

3) A lovely example of something I had when I was younger and with hair.

Thanks nonetheless man.

This seems to tick box 3.

A furry titty! Not a good combo in any situation

I don't really have anything retro Japanese to trade but I do have this.

I do like that a lot... but not for me this time around.

Thanks a lot though.

I have a 306 floppy top as a possible trade?

Thanks.  I would have been interested too, but I've got a queue of people beating my door down at the moment to see the car.  I've actually had to mark it as sold on one FB group as proper phone calls from genuine men keep on coming.

I'm actually wondering, for the first time ever, whether I've priced it a bit too cheap.  Who knows - maybe it's just priced correctly.

That's interesting as I've not had one call for my Sierra 😞

With a heavy heart but quite a lot of excitement I can write...

SOLD.

Excellent, though a shame it won't be present at the next MK MK1 Sierra meet! Maestro next? ;)

I've got two Ovlovs in the crosshairs at the moment - but I do need to do a Maestro before they all fizz away too.

Did you see the H plate Maestro on the Ebay Tat thread, got to be worth a look at £500

Yep. 1275cc for added shite points.

I'm going after that 343 vario like a dog with two dicks... but if it gets stupid then it's either the other one you found or a moment or two of quiet contemplation before finding something new.

I've had a 360GLT and a 340 before and love them. Also know of a brilliant Volvo mechanic outside Ipswich so that's taken care of.

Drumroll...

I know of a nice 1988 Sunny that will be coming up for sale quite soon….

Is it staying within these beige walls? What sort of volvo? The wife's selling her 06 V70 D5 ......

No..

The guy saw it on Car and Classic and wants it to go with his Sunbeam Alpine which he's done a Ford conversion on and painted in the same colour as the Sierra !

Sadly your Volvo is both too new and too good for my appalling taste. Thanks nonetheless.

Congrats on the Sierra sale, looked like a very quick and painless sale!

Is it the blue early 343 off the ebay tat thread your after?

It's a lovely looking car if so, I wouldn't half mind it myself actually. I had a 340GL 1.7 and loved it, they are great cars.

Thanks.  I had four people who wanted to buy it, and were all looking to transfer money to me to buy it sight unseen.  I think it may have been a few quid too cheap, but I'm not greedy (and actually feel bad that I've made money on it that quickly).

I've had a couple of Volvo 300s.  Mother had a 3 door 360GLT in white which was the absolute sex.  My first proper car (ie sensible size and RWD YO) was also a 360GLT - and I've also had a 340 1.4 before too.  I think they're charming little things, and I love seeing them around.

Can I point sir in the direction of a Volvo that is neither particularly new or good: http://autoshite.com/topic/24044-collection-and-now-for-sale-volvo-340gl-vario/

Thanks very much for the offer.  I really have thought about it bloody long and bloody hard, but I want something I can show off a little bit.  Yours will make a lovely car, but I'm very hamfisted and very impatient when it comes to refurbishment works.

Never understood the love for 340s/360s. Hateful piles of shite, the only good thing was comfy seats.

Hateful piles of shite

I think that's why a lot of us are here, in fairness.

At 17, I loved my 360GLT.  Strangely - none of my friends took the piss even once.  I guess it was a bit of a curiosity seeing this scruffy media type driving his Grandfather's hatchback, but it was fine.

What I remember is a relentlessly tough, utterly dependable and pretty brisk car that still smelt of Volvo at 14 years old.

Even now my day is always brightened when I see one: whether it's being driven at 42mph in a 60mph area or by a couple of young lads who think they're 'counter culture'.

I want one because of that connection to my youth.  Just in the same way that I bought the Sierra and bought the 190e.  Whilst my life has changed an awful lot, I still aspire to the same things I did as a younger lad.  I see that as a result, personally.

How dare you, my little 340 vario is a gem and a brilliant motorway cruiser as well as cracking car for blezzing round country lanes. Plus elastic bands, and rwd = MEGAWIN.

Here's my old one, J reg so one of the last ones. 1.7GL manual.

I bought it when I was 18! Everyone else my age had Novas or mk2 Fiestas and they took the piss rotten. But I was paying less than half what they were for insurance and I had a much bigger engine and RWD.

I had it quite a while and it was a great car, it drove like a tank though.

I moved on to a 244 and then a 740, and while I prefer these Volvo's I'd gladly have another 340 any day.

Bugger, I thought it'd be nice to scratch the Sierra itch too.
