Well kind of.  Just because you get asked to leave, doesn't mean you actually have to go. If they've served an S21, it needs 2 months notice and you still don't have to go until they have been to court, and even them you don't have to go, until the baliffs come. I reckon 4 months???

Only four months? You aren't allowing for the wait to get to be heard in court. You can add a couple of months at least for each time. And then that assumes the landlord or his representatives know what they are doing.

Yes the laws can seem weird but it comes back to the ownership overriding the tenancy agreement (without which we wouldn't have the relatively cheap mortgages that we do) but it does leave holes in the rights of tenants e.g. sale or repossession.

Found new house........moving next week........current landlady has put current house on the market, one viewing in a fortnight, I suspect that she's going to be seriously out of pocket before it sells.........

This has been raised time and again by the World Health Organisation and other large bodies - compared with other Western European countries we're Neanderthal, compared with most Eastern Bloc ones we're medieval. Apart from Hungary, I think. Should be a thing of shame for the UK, especially with the buy-to-let market as it is.
