Reminds me of the Mk1 Granada Coupe.

german equivalent of Mk3/Mk4 Cortina Have a look on ebay .de, usually a few on there. Better built than the Brit Cortina/Granada, I had a stack of Tuanus [Tauni?] in the mid seventies when I was earning the Queen's shilling. The coupes were very pretty, 26mts was the top of the range, [from memory] creamy v6, and went well, felt much more upmarket than equivalent Cortina/Granada

Pretty car, especially with the Ghia-type wheels. Did they do the Mk5 in Germany? Not sure the rear lights help though. Are they off the Mk3 Escort Cabriolet?

Yes. Most Ghias were built in Germany/Belgium anyway. From 1976 on the Cortina and Taunus were exactly the same vehicle. IIRC they made Mk5 Cortinas/Taunus in Turkey and Argentina until the late 1980s.

Ah, sorry I wasn't specific enough! I meant is the Mk5 coupe unique to Argentina or was it sold in Europe too; I've only ever seen this type before:

Don't think so. They did offer all the trim variants on the 2 door saloon though, not just base and 'L' like the UK.

I've always liked these,you could get a 2.0 V6 in the Mk 3 shape 8).Here's mine

You know, that kind of works for me. Perhaps they ought to have sold that here for a time for all those cautious types who were horrified by the Sierra

That's Dutch text at the bottom isn't it; was it sold there or is it a South African version?

sort of a cross between the Mk5 cortina and the sierra.

Kinda reminds me of the Aussie version of the Granada Ghia, which was the Fairmont, probably the same inhouse styling..

Looks somewhat Photoshopped to me; almost like someone's taken a Cortina Crusader press shot and drawn extra lines on it!

That '85 edition' is definitely a Photoshop. The Turkish and South American versions were exactly the same cars as the UK/German ones.

They did - it was built by Hyundai and called a "Stellar:

I think you're right. The caption on the previous picture makes it quite clear.

Well spotted that man, My cock-up sorry!, Still, by all accounts this one is a 1990 Turkish model, Just looks like a Mk5 with rubber bumpers to me.

Is that Mk1 Orion rear lights i spot on that?!

I always had a soft spot for the Turkish pre Taunus Anadol (Reliant designed)

the Taunus was continued in Turkey until 1992 -Built by Otosan.I've always liked the Mk5 Type Coupes.. unique to Argentina, and worth a lot of money over there apparently which is a shame as I'd love to bring one over here! Dont think there are any in the UK.Argentina didn't get the mk4 cortina, they went straight to MK5... but I think its worth missing out on to get the coupe instead!Built there until 85/86 AFAIK
