The Moog Posted January 20, 2018 Author Posted January 20, 2018 The puma has decided to start welling up recently - with both headlights getting quite misty. Pulled them both off tonight (3 bolt job) and brought them in the house. Idea is to dry them out inside then hopefully that will avoid issues later on. Took the covers off and bulbs out and stuck them on the radiator over night. I did it quietly so hopefully missus Moog won't notice. J4mes, Cavcraft, eddyramrod and 3 others 6
Shep Shepherd Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 That's my standard method of drying out car parts and trainers ^^ The Moog 1
J4mes Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Is it worth banging a couple of holes in the bottom of the lights, let the moisture out? I've had to do this in the past, not on a Puma mind.. The Moog 1

I've had to do this in the past, not on a Puma mind..They have little hoses at the bottom I think for that reason. Not sure how well they work mind J4mes 1
The Moog Posted January 21, 2018 Author Posted January 21, 2018 It has worked. Before After Reinstalled Might need to do the rears as they have the same issue. Skizzer, J4mes and clayts450 3
The Moog Posted January 27, 2018 Author Posted January 27, 2018 Puma is moving on to pastures new this week so I needed to make it less tracky Tools at the ready Was windy and moist so perfect weather for rolling around under the car. Up and off Disconnected the bolts and took it off Back to stock The strut has a fair amount of witness marks As for the car, it feels really soft - can't believe how much difference it made. A lot of the noise has gone from car. It still is knocking when turning left. Must be roll bar or exhaust or right engine mount. Not my problem from Wednesday Stanky, RobT, Skizzer and 1 other 4
Cavcraft Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 What sort of job is it to remove the headlight covers, please? They're are absolutely rubbish on mine, to the point where it's genuinely dangerous to drive at night, so want to get them off to give 'em a buffing and try and find brighter bulbs.

Open bonnet. There are two star screws holding in the grill. Undo and take grill off. To on the inside of the headlight towards centre of the car is a twist knob. Twist it to unlock the light. Then there is a screw in the knob to remove and one on the inner wing. Disconnect wiring plug. Gently tug forward as there is a locking grommit. Bosch Cavcraft 1
beko1987 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Yep, very easy. I found it quicker to have the whole lights off just to change a bulb many times! The Moog 1
