Unfortunately I've come to realise that I'm not going to get any time to put into this and so It needs to go to someone who will at least use it !!

I picked itup from that there London on New Years Eve,and drove it home to N Shropshire without a hitch.

Apart from being hassled by some nutter in an i10 on the M25.........ahem

It is literally as it was when Ken had it,so it seems obvious to link to his thread

Mot'd till July, runs well and needs a good run out to clear a slightly lumpy tickover

Headlining is droopy at the back, and the armrest is still damaged as I've been unable to find another yet

Car is located on the  N Shropshire/Staffs border  TF9

Looking for £350 for it

Tickover will be rotor arm or cap. I replaced one of the two (arm, I think) in my ownership then it was fine. Cracking car this.

Just remember with the rotor arm its screwed on, not just a push fit.

When I took the cap off mine the screw was underneath. Nearly ripped the thing off before I realised.

Love these 3 doors, had a k plate one years back it was a great car, the split rear window reminds me of xr4i's

These are a lovely thing, the 3 door is especially lovely looking.

This is a lovely, lovely car and drove beautifully.

Yeah, these engines seem to treat rotor arms as a yearly service item. Not a great expense I suppose, and maybe it's because I buy £peanuts ones

Plus elevnty on what a nice car this is. Very quick as well. Shame I couldnt have kept it.

Any R8 is a good daily runner and the 3 door model is especially rare with features that give it a real character.

You want to back Ken?

Sure we can sort something if you like......

Arrghhh, tempting but I've just agreed to buy the 100 quid Scenic :(

I wish I had domestic management approval or wish I had somewhere I could hide it from said management and sneak out and use it when she wasn't looking...

As it is, I have neither, so I'll just give this one a free bump...

C'mon folks, mere words cannot describe just how nice this car looks and drives. Just really needs a door card to make it mintola.

Well.I've been running this as my daily since the start of May,and it's just perfect as a commuter

Starts on the button, runs up to temp nicely and is giving a good 40mpg

Cheaper insurance than the Cupra, and the road tax has been halved as well !

Now I'm using regularly it will be getting used as a dog hauler ect,and tbh it's too good inside for that

Just had new front pads as the originals had glazed over

And,as a bonus, it has a Towbar !

So obviously I still need to sell it and find something else..........

Last push at £300 for this fine automobile

Posted

I can't believe this hasn't sold yet - especially for £300 !

They're brilliant cars, it's disappointing that most car enthusiasts* can't really see beyond their badge and OMGHGF reputation.

I agree,it runs and drives fine

Not even a hint of cooling issues, gets up to temp and stays there.

The only reason it's for sale is I have a major lifestyle/location change coming up so I'm going to be using my vehicle for tip runs/garage clearing and various oily and greasy debris to be shifted...and this car is just too tidy to mess with

I will be getting something suitably beat up for this task so if you have a van/4x4 thats valued at approx £1k inc the Rover as a px then give me a shout

LHD would be even better/cheaper ......

Posted

I seriously would buy this back but I won't have funds for a few months due to Triumph buyage. Fucksticks.

Posted

Whilst a tatty Transit would be ideal, being the far end of the country and having a couple of issues means it's not quite what i'm after.. 8) 8)
