That takes me back to the early '90s! The factory bright silver on those D-for-Dogleg-Doom-era XR3i and RS Turbo alloys were very prone to flaking off after only about 3 years. Earlier (Cloverleaf) and later (mini-Cossie-Snowflake) ones were far more durable.

Ash Black was more metallicky. It was a bit lighter than Panther Black. Panther Black had a mauve flip-tone under certain lights, Ash Black was really more like a very dark grey. It was slightly darker than the short-lived Levante Grey Pearl that was offered at the same time.

Sadly, my company XR3i back in 1988 was fleet spec with white wheeltrims so I can't comment.

Back in the day I so wanted a late Mk2 Zetec as my personal taxi but I could never find one for the right price.

I've never seen both of these next to each other before and the earlier ones like yours really are nicer to look at.

-2 this morning, the lack of cabin heat was, bracing, but de icer and started fine, even if it was still icing up while driving!

I’ve never known a car so prone to steaming up and icing on the inside of the window, literally every one I had did that!

Who's having it then?

This 1994 Ford Mondeo is in great condition for its age. The best thing about it is the full Ford Dealership service history with all the stamps and paperwork to prove it. Slight signs of rust are showing on drivers side rear seal. Both bumpers have slight egg shell cracking. Interior is in an ok condition, headline starting to sag. The boot lid will need a new spring because it won’t stay up. Mot until September 2025. Open to offers. (Photos from Auto Express, actual vehicle for sale)
