Valeting / Detailing / two bucket wronguns

Anybody got any product recommendations for lightly scratched and generally uncared for black paintwork. It's on a Fiat Panda, so it's unlikely to be the best quality paint! I'm pretty handy with the car cleaning thing but I've never owned a black car.

I like Poorboys Black Hole, use it on my black Audi, generally get it off ebay together with one of the Nattys waxes, using blue at the min. Have also used Autoglym super resin polish for years, was bought some of this and extra gloss protection in a box for christmas just waiting for some decent weather to see if it makes any difference.

Black hole is ace! I didn't think much of the AG Extra Gloss protection when I used it, black hole is much better!

Hybrid V7 sealant over the top is lovely too, but possibly a bit OTT. I had some V7, as well as a bottle of Blacklight and after spending a weekend on the Puma it was so deep and glossy you could dive into it (and cut your arm on the rusty arch as you do...

I always use a big blob of "STARDROPS" in a bucket of warm water(so me hands don't freeze up,rinse the car off with another bucket of water and a plastic  breakfast bowl ,just throw it over the roof then pour down the window/doors wings/f+b screens, boot and bonnet.

Dry off with a chammy,Then if I'm in the mood any polish that comes to hand.

Trailer queens req BURNING!!

This is Amys old corsa (hateful pile of shit) after Black Hole, Blacklight and Hybrid V7 (the day before we traded it in and got £1k off the Meriva, despite it's water leak (hidden), rattly engine (slightly overfilling the oil helped there) and general shitness at 100k

It'll be wearing the trim gel I recommended further back as well. God I miss those days!

Black hole can be used by machine or hand as far as i am aware. It has no cut but as can be seen fills well.

Another good one that has a little cut is britemax black max, very impressed with that by machine.

I used it by hand, but have heard it's impressive by machine.

I use it with the old elbow grease but I have heard that too. Nice result anyway!

I second that! I used Black Hole & Nattys Blue on my C4 & Daughter No2s Clio, came up really well.

I need to clean and feed teh seats in the Alfa of Much Lovliness.....they're tan / beige leather, and a bit grubby. have previously used stuff in Mrs_Outlaw's fester that made the seats really slippery, so I'm guessing there was a lot of silicon in it.

Any recommendations?

Does the rug doctor attachment for doing upholstery just spray out and suck up water or does it have some fancy brush stuff going on?

Might just need the cleaning fluid

it just sprays n sooks.

I used a stiff dish brush to agitate after spraying.

made some fooking difference!

Get a refurbished Karcher from their online outlet - cheaper than a budget brand

Aldi sometimes do a 150 bar washer with a yellow casing. Its actually a Karcher with a cheaper looking casing at around half the price.

door shuts, I pressure wash them! open the door, fire the washer up onto the panel next to the door, line up the edge of the jet so it misses the door seal and run it across and up the pillar. then spray cleaner, brush lots then rinse again. then just dry it eith the towel whwn you do the rest of the car

oof lovely! that looks very deep!

i rate cheap nilfisk pressure washers, as the pumps are metal, rather than the plastic ones in cheap karchers

Even better to buy a Stihl packaged nilfisk. I like mine.

I forgot to say a good cleaner for Windows I have found is

http://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/aristowax-window-cleaner-279073

It's cheap, doesn't smear, there's no odour to it, the best spray window cleaner I have ever used, it's quick and easy as well

If you havn't got time or weather to do a decent polish, I've found simoniz carnauba speed wax to be great,

http://www.tesco.com/direct/simoniz-carnauba-speed-wax-500ml/562-7578.prd

Nice and easy to use, I've just given the saph a wash and a going over with speed wax. This is the finish it gives

The car was last polished about 5-6 weeks ago

I clean my car on average once a month, and if it's lucky it'll get a full on polish once a year. More often than not the local Iraqi car wash dude does the outside for £5. I won't let him near the inside as he insists on cleaning the windows with a cloth and it drives me mental. Nobody should ever attempt to clean car windows with a cloth, it doesn't work.

My cars tend to be clean inside. 5 minutes vacuuming every couple of weeks keep them tip top.

Tips for removing water stains on the seats? Least I hope they're water stains.

Bowl of hot water, Microfibre cloth, splash of carpet cleaning liquid in the water, dunk the Microfibre cloth in, wring it out so it's not absolutely soaking and place it over the seat with the water stain. Leave it there, opened out flat for a minute or two. Don't scrub or anything, just leave it. Remove cloth, vacuum.
