The load bed on the 406 is less long than the 740 estate. I may be too long to fit...

Towing mirrors fitted. Not very well. The RAV4 has unfriendly mirror housings. Have loaded up the boot with tools and fluids, and moved stuff around in the caravan itself for the perfect* weight distrubution. Bloody hell I hate caravans. I'm half tempted to ROFFLE it at Shitefest. How drunk will people need to be to buy tickets?

Do you want me to bring a pair of potentially better towing mirrors for the journey home?

Well, if you've got space to chuck them in, just in case. I think they're pretty solid now. We'll see...

This week I am mostly working or sitting in a hotel 150 miles from home. My SF preparations are progressing well*.

I am still better prepared than I was last year.

Arriving Friday PM now, after a last minute agreement from work to get Friday afternoon off.

Please take all the magazines and other random tat I bring off my hands, I plan to be driving back with a lot less than I arrived with.

Towing mirrors are a pain. My passenger side is a curved one and its awful!

Wednesday is the new Friday.

Ooops, no wonder no-one's here, looks like I've gone to Shitefest Australia by mistake.

Well, after last year, perhaps it's best to be early. ;) See you tomorrow.

I will be bringing free beer!

It is just homebrew and the first batch is a bit sedimenty but very drinkable.

Also got my cling whiteboards that will stick to any flat surface. Plus a piece of Sierra, some random hbol and other bits.

Friday pm for me

Just pulled in here to spray grease my uj as it went stiff again after picking up a vac from the estate

Can I bring some fire-breathing liquid?

Only if you try to run an engine on it, fail then drink it.

Aye, this is a bit cobbed.

How did you make it so far with such lack of time?

I need to share some backpacking tips and a beer with you by the way.

Anxiety/excitement starting to build now...

I have nothing packed so far.

Posted

Might be heading down on Friday night for a bit on my way to overseas - what time is the majority getting down (ie peak hours)?

Posted

Seems Friday night/Saturday morning is peak time, although Saturday morning will see a departure to go stare at CHOO CHOOs. :)

I'm packing tomorrow morning, then either arriving in the morning, or just after lunch. Depends if I crack on with some work before I leave.

Staying late at work tonight to get something done (time off in leiu coming my way), so wont be home till 10, then probably straight to bed, then tomorrow I can polish and reassemble a DC23, and get another 24 apart. Got a broken 24 to collect from Aylesbury too, might try and swing past on my way home on Sunday to pick it up.

I have £not alot too, but I don't think I need alot. £20 to bub, £10 coming from Joe, I have a tenner, so £20 should cover it. Won't get the DC23 done and back in time unless I'm really late on Friday I don't think

The reality of it all is kicking in...

In less than 10 minutes, I'm away to drive 500-odd miles to meet a bunch of people I've only spoke to online, who have the same interest's as me, and spend a weekend with them. It'll cost a fair bit on fuel, guessing around 4/5 tank's in all (At 85 liters a tank...), not to mention the food & drink, etc to add on top.

Normally I'd be in a bit of a panic with anxiety kicking in and all,but not having any of that! I put that down to the fact of how friendly everyone here is! :)

See you all on Friday sometime!

I've changed xantia oil and swore at it so that should be fine too!

I can't attend now, sadly, so if anyone wants to use my space on the railway do they're more than welcome.

If i come can bring mig welder and hydraulic press, but don't want to be lumbered with them on the journey.

Any shiters planning to come down the M40 be warned, a lorry overturned at J7 Oxford, tailbacks may fuck you up getting off at brackley/wherever.

Although looking at google maps, it's just oxford on thats fucked, so don't come via thame or chinnor from the M40
