Paid and fingers crossed, its amazing how eager everyone is for this 75 as the fast payment has shown. I now have a new business plan chopping out cheap Rovers on Autoshite, anyone want to be my dragon?

It is only pain that finds me awake and on here at this time, almost a late payment, story of my life - nothing changes with the new year!

Apologies Fat_Pirate - I missed your payment.

I've PMed Mo and Jollyfckr, so they should get emails letting them know.

If we can get this boxed off by tonight, the draw will be tonight.

I have a broken MG ZT-T in my garage you can start with if you like - just needs the spare engine putting in.  FWIW I thought I wasn't scared of engine swaps until I started this one - the V6 is all kinds of a tight fit in there.  1.8s from now on for me.

so are you any good with melted turbo's and/or blown head gaskets?

Well considering this "bulletproof" KV6 with low miles and fsh seems to have lunched one of its 2 Head gaskets, it looks like par for the course, and I'd rather be doing the 4-pot series with more access and only one (much easier) timing belt. Also turbo isn't compulsory on the 1.8 if you don't mind going a bit slower.

Posted

are you sure that it is OMGHGF as there is a rubber seal between the fannymold and the block that can fail, and cause oil and water to mix?

there is no such thing as a bullet proof engine, just ask some poor sap that has had one of the 2 timing chains come off of their 3 litre BMW diesel engine, that is supposed to be bullet proof.....

You have clearly never owned a Volvo redblock !

Right, everyone is in - so the roffle is tonight. In twelve hours this could be yours! Good luck everyone!

Everyone told me my 530d engine was bulletproof, pity I needed it to perform as an engine rather than ballistic protection.

To whoever does win this, I have a cheeky request. Lend me the car for a few weeks and hopefully I could make it worth your while somehow.

Granted (in the unlikely event)

Much appreciated - I think it's the 1.8 that does that, but I replaced both inlet manifold scousegits* a while ago - needless to say it didn't help.

That's definitely going to pass into the lexicon!  Hauserplenty: one for you here my friend!

Someone will win the 75, but no one ever wins the lotto anymore since the odds went from totally ridiculous to almost fckin impossible.
