If the Nativity had cars, what would they have had I wonder? I can see Joseph having a 52 plate Zafira in doom blue. Herrod an Audi A4 Sportline, The Inn Keeper a Rover 800 and the Shepherds a Citroen berlingo. Thoughts?

We three kings of orient are

Driving Reliant Simitars

Petrol lowing, spark plug blowing

Slowing down other cars.

Car of wonder

Car of rust

Spare parts are a real must

Westward leading, not proceeding

Sitting in garage, gathering dust.

The Three wise men in Tagora's  - Joseph in a Fiat Multipla , Gabriel in a Old Triumph roadster as it had huge wings :-)

Herod must have a PT Cruiser

We three kings of orient are.

One in a taxi, one in a car,

One on a scooter, beeping his hooter,

Following yonder star.

Joseph, the friendly neigbourhood carpenter... surely in an early transit with rusty arches!

The wise men, were from the east, and arrived some months later... they probably broke down... so classy, yet unreliable...

Shepherds?  Cheap yet off roady....

And as the Pug 504s seem to be in the middle east (according to TV anyway) The Innkeeper can have one of those

I see Jesus as a vw split try driver. Joseph would have an ex Royal Mail transit to go with the carpentry business and Mary being a vigil mother would probably have an Austin Maestro.

The 'kings' arrived in the back of a Hilux, probably carrying AK47s

Joseph has a 2cv

The inn keeper has a Jag with chrome arches...

The rest drive battered Corollas

So is the Inn Keeper myself or Mo? :D I can see Herod in an X308, or maybe a 7 series. Joseph? An old V70. God - a Range Rover P38.

I think one of the three wise men would have a Honda Accord estate.

Innkeper cannot be Mo, because he never drives drunk .

And I thought Jesus had a Triumph, I remember something like " and Jesus tore up the desert in a Triumph"

Edit. I may be wrong. was it Moses who had the triumph (NOT HERALD)

U IZ ORL RONG

Joseph obviously has a Morris Minor Traveller, so he can fix the bodywork himself.

Herrod has a bullet proof, chauffeur driven Merc 560 SEL.

The three wise men arrive in a white Range Rover Sport on bling wheels.

The inn keeper has a Jag XJ40, the shepherds a Mercedes 207 camper van.

Gabriel drives a Trans Am Blackbird, and everyone knows, that God owns a

1976 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham with this interior:

I suppose God would be the best person to own a P38

Its certainly not for mortals, his probably wouldn't go wrong, it wouldn't dare

No, I reckon he would drive a Bristol or a Bentley Continental

King Herod's would be a BMW X6 surely

Herod was a pretty mean dictator... Surely a Hummer??

Posted

I think the wise men would have had a Hyundai Sonata, being quite sensible wanting the most for the money and carting around gold, frankinsence and mer. Not sure what they brought Mer for, I mean Joseph wouldn't have had time for polishing the car what with having a kid on the way. I'm making an assumption about King Herrod, the infanticider himself would have probably had a Phaeton. The shepherds would have definitely had something utility based given their trade, on the other hand being young farmers, and likely drunk, an L reg Defender 90 with an Ifor Williams hard top seems more realistic. I'm in no doubt however, cuckolded Joseph would have had a Zafira Life.

The disciples would have possibly come by minibus, if the came on an individual basis, Thomas being the doubter would have had a Kia, a new one with a 5 year warranty, concerned that at 100k it would explode and kill his family, it would be on a never ending finance deal, Peter - don't know a lot about him but at a guess it would have been a Volvo V70. Don't know why, just would.

Edited for accuracy. I was listening to a pipe organ version of this song earlier, with these very words in my head.

'Hark, the Herald!', angels sing.

It is technically more correct to sing "Hark the Herald axles swing" and imagine a Triumph rolling onto its roof.

Our Minister drives a G reg Volvo 740 Estate. I don't know where the inspiration came from, but.........

I reckon the sensible Joseph would have had a Volvo 245, the sheperds would arrive by battered Hilux or Defender and the wise men by Audi 100 Avant.

Herod deffo had a Cadillac Escalade as be pretends to be "Gangsta" and the angel Gabriel rocks up in a droop snoot Firenza, subtlety lowered and with a burbly exaust note.

The innkeeper is pretty far up himself so has a BMW X5 on the never never to impress the neighbours and only ever puts a tenners worth in it.

God drives an SM because God understands how they work.

In later life, Jesus chuggs about in an ex Postus Officus LDV 200 minibus doing miracles like making it leak free.

Joseph would drive a Peugeot partner with wooden racking in the back. Inn keeper would have an XK8. 3 wise men in SAABs. Shepherds in Daihatsu four tracks. Herod would drive some awful blinged up G wagen. Mary would have a Hyundai Getz. The Angels would drive nothing cos their Angels.
