....subject to a final assessment of the risk posed by extremist Welsh nationalists.

It took me 10 minutes to un-seize the handbrake on the smoke-belching tow-car this morning, so that bodes well. Cocoa and an early night for me, coverage will resume tomorrow morning.

You can never be too careful though, better safe than sorry.

Remember not to go anywhere there are more than two people together at any one time, just noticed it's Wales, no worries there.

WARNING TO ALL SHITERS

I think it would be prudent to ask all shiter's to postpone any type of collection thread at the present time no matter what is being collected and where from. The world is becoming a very dangerous place and we all need to take these new risks into account. Stay safe out there shiter's, please leave that chod alone.

a vauxhall vectra that like rock climbing/dry stone walling?

i hope that the risk assessment has had that added, and the manual lifting training has been competed?

There was a story in the [insert terrible tabloid rag here] that Wales is full of unexploded ISIS sheep.

Weather is uber shit.  Perfect day for primo tippy top kollktionage akshun!

I have just read the mail and apparently the rain is a new moral sapping weapon devised by ISIS. They are specifically targeting Wales, Scotland and Skegness.

Never, under any circumstances attempt to use a Kia Sportage to tow anything, at all. I can live with the lack of idle control and massive instability over walking speed. The 10mpg and 45mph average motorway speed, not so much.

Agreed.  Also, they are indeed a nice little car, I've had both a Toledo and a Dolomite way back when they were worthless.  They were a quality piece of kit in those days, and the Dolly, being an 1850, could shift a bit too.

i thought the whole idea of the toledo and dolomite was a really good one.

take a wee car, and make it like a proper little executive car. like austin morris and the vanden plas 1500, only much, much better looking.

not that i wouldn't kick either out of my garage...

Wrong, the sheep are full of stuff from recently exploded Welshmen !

^^ Oh that is just gross. Eeeuwww.

I have a couple of piccies to add shortly. I quite like the look of the Kia, slightly scabby but obviously willing. There were many stallings of woe just getting out of the car park.

Do not be shocked to see a burning Kia on the hard shoulder of some motorway between here and there.

Kes hired a trailer from Rhyl. I remember Rhyl as a kid.

The trailer looked much better than most of Rhyl in all honesty but that was in the 70's.

Good to meet you Kes, I am sure the green Dolly will be suitably fettled.

No, I won't forget ;) Thank you for reminding me lol++++++

Having been to Rhyl recently (last week) its probably even worse now than in the 70s!!

I work in Prestatyn, 5 miles down the road and ten times classier*

AND it's home :-D

Apologies for the woeful lack of pics in what must be one of the worst kollekshun threads of EVAH. The Kia's EML came on half-way there, then about 100 miles from Ken's I lost the idle control, err, thing (valve? circuit? sensor? elf?) so I was too busy tap-dancing on the pedals and listening for horrible noises to take any interesting photos. Like of the mint Mk2 Granny estate I passed on the M6, or the fin-tail Merc and 60s F150 pickup in Edmonton. Sorry

Mostly uneventful trip despite the appalling weather, apart from some trouser-soiling fishtailing while coming down Rhuallt hill at an unwise speed, and doing the final 15 miles on fumes. I still can't quite believe that the useless piece of junk of a 'tow'-car swallowed 2½ tanks of petrol there and back, despite rarely managing more than 50mph. Did I mention how much I detest it?

You may have once or twice :)

Glad you got back ok fella.

Have some additional piccies, apologies for the slight blurredness, at least I think they are blurred.

Kes, R*mmers do a new rear bumper blade for not very much, would be worth doing as the one on there is very tired.
