Shite test

Hi chaps

I'm looking to run a five car test in the next couple of weeks and am looking for cars for the shoot. If you have, and we use, we'll pay expenses, I'll buy you lunch, and let you have the pics.

The cars we're looking for are:

Audi 100 (C3)

Alfa Romeo 164

Renault 25

Rover 800 Sterling (XX)

Vauxhall Senator.

If you can help, drop me a line here by PM or email [email protected]

Thanks in advance :)

Hirst, it will get better. Distribution improved for issue two, and more improvements to come.

No, that's always the one they're interested in!  I was thinking a nice 'repmobile' fight between Sierra, Cavalier and 405.

Im looking forward to someone asking to group test the Eurovan 2 in about 10 years time.....

Or maybe the N16 Almera.

I can't help with any of the cars anymore but hopefully your mag has a slightly better budget than the last photo shoot I took a car to. It seems the chaps idea of buying us lunch was a sausage sandwich a can of coke and a kit kat, not quite my idea of a free lunch.

CCW, I'm guessing - Modern Classics being a touch aspirational for us shiters...  ;)

if it was the mag that was discussed at great length a month or so ago I still haven't been able to find it either.

Anyone want a copy of the first issue of Modern Classics, PM me. I've found a few. Issue two is better though...

Could you mention Autoshite a bit in the next issue so we can add it to the Wikipedia pleading?

This sounds like a bloody great idea for a test. I've owned two, driven four. Senator remains on my wish list.

If you get me the cars, I certainly will.

I'm also looking for owners and their cars to feature in their own pages.

I only have a zx, happy to provide content on it but it may be a tad boring

Drive to work

drive home

drive to work

drive home

drive to work

drive home

weekend, so a daylight shot

pick the crap out of the footwells

put fuel in

check fluids

drive to work

drive home

drive to work

Sure I could make it a bit more exciting though, it may motivate me to actually do something to it. I am known for in depth vacuum cleaner restoration threads, could do the same with the car

I tried to get a free copy of the first issue on Saturday at the NEC but the girl got a bit shirty with me and said I'd have to pay £2 for It or buy the lastest issue for £4.

I bought the latest one but i wasn't really sold on it, I haven't really read any modern car magazines for 10 years and this felt like where I left them off, not a bad thing if that's what your interested but I prefer my cars older.

That said I did enjoy the Saab 900 v Citroen CX test very much.

I can provide info on runs of bad luck. Featuring vectra c does dry stone wall climbing, baleno vs coping stone due to oncoming car on wÃ…â„¢ong side of road. Baleno lost. And erratic idle fault finding and how to make steady forward momentum with a little diesel saxo. On a serious note though Good luck with the magazine. Doubt any of my vehicles would class as a modern classic!

PM me Trigger, or on Facebook. I'll stump you a copy for services rendered.

In terms of content, an Autoshite-assisted group test would help turn the dial in our direction, I guess.
