I appear to have just collected a fiat regata 70s to be a little companion for my ritmo.

Hes fairly all there but having been owned by an old gent previously hes a little battered on the corners, didnt know if anyone had any parts kicking about, namely n/s front headlight and indicator and o/s rear light lens.

obviously will consider all parts.

Photos to follow later, was dark when we collected it last night.

cheers

Pete wanted to buy mine, and I was fairly happy to sell ,but I couldn't get my ass into gear, get back to Uk, dig it out etc.etc etc. My loss, I guess.

We seem to have similar taste in old Fiats, and I will indeed help where I can , when I know definitively what's needed. Probably very little, methinks.

Anyway, he has my blessing, hope it's a good in, and might eventually move me to sorting mine out!

Epic find!

My dad had a 1988 E reg 70 CL Strada Team when we were kids and I've always said one day I'll have one or a Regata. I nearly bought a G reg 100 i.e saloon for £95 back in 2001/2 but being only 18 they wouldn't touch me on the insurance sadly.

Had a look on Ebay for you as I'm sure I have seen some of those bits you needed on there before when looking at sellers listing for Uno parts.

Hope this helps best to prob check with the sellers about suitabilty of fitment due to the various minor changes Fiat did to the Regata just to be sure.

And don't know if it's of any use as well but there a place in the West Midlands called Midland Lamps and Panels in Tipton which I got some Uno repair panels and a bumper from earlier in the year.

Checked there website below just and they have listed in stock pattern parts for the Regata which are both bumpers and grille plus both arch repair panels.

Might be able to help possibly with collection of those for you if your intrested ?

Look forward to some pictures and all the best with it. :-)

A Regatta was one of the worse cars I've ever driven and it nearly killed me once. I can't wait to see more of yours Pete!

I've got a pile of rust swept from my MG F. It could be rust from a Fiat, there's enough of it...

Posted

Fiat rust should be a bit finer dust than the MG if the powder my 132 turned into was anything to go by.

Late at night if I stood quietly in the garage, I could hear it decomposing.

Interior is proper minging but all there, I have a contact in Malta who is looking for a couple of front seats for me to replace these ones.

The jump from Regata to Tempra must have been like going to sleep in 1970 and waking up in THE FUTURE.

It's a Regatta that's not blue!  I can't get over that.

I won't lie, I'm having trouble getting excited over it compared to the Strada but I'm glad it still exists and even gladder than you have it Pete and are giving it the love it deserves.

That Regatta has many things that are appealing.  The aforementioned doors with their little kick up at the corners of the windows.  The long sweeping rear arches.  The black plastic bumpers.  The green paint.  The striped brown interior.  The steel wheels and hub caps.  The shape of the leading edge of the petrol flap that neatly matches the rear door.  The shape of the C pillar is appealing too.  I find it a very appealing and stylish grown up car, a lovely companion to your cheeky looking little Ritmo with it's best steel wheels ever.

If I'm honest guys I don't think he's going to be a keeper, I'm not bonding with it as well as I thought I would, probably as my ideal regata would be an 85s or 100i.e which is really what I've been holding out for as I owned one previously, I know these are out there in Europe and to be fair I'd rather go down that route and have one a bit plusher rather than settle for another povo spec motor.

I bought this one sight unseen so didn't know what I was buying until I got there and by the time I'd driven 250 odd miles with the trailer on in the dark/rain/fog I wasn't going to say no.

It's been saved that's the main thing,it needs a new clutch and an mot which I will probably do before I sell it on, it also needs a new n/s wing and headlight/indicator combo, again the wing I have on its way but wether it'll be fitted or not I don't know.

It's not perfect body wise, where it had been laid up in the old boys garage and covered in stuff it's got quite a few dents and scratches, again I'm not really prepared to spend another load of time and effort and money getting it back to show spec like I've done with Rita when it's not "the one"

Open to offers either as it is or with an mot and new clutch, but I would like to see back what it owes me at least.
