Tell me one valid reason why you don't buy a Rancho.

Skizzer tried valiantly to buy not one but two Ranchos, but no fucker selling a car in France or Belgium will answer emails or phone calls.

Also, no 4x4 dude.  Wd still buy one yesterday if could, but t'aint none.

NB I can haz SEVEN SEATER needage because new squeeze has three sprogs plus Hungarian rent-a-slave, and I have one sprog.

There are 4x4 versions of the Chrysler Grand Voyager. RHD, too, if you find a Japanese import.

But there is only one answer for 7 seats, long drive and 4x4 wanted.

Hmm wants 4x4, doesn't want diesel, but doesn't want V8ness fuel consumption, wants plenty of room. wants moon on a stick.

Step forward I have found just what you need

V8, LPG, Land Rover at its finest. with room to lie down if you break a leg, and a handy stove for knocking up a quick fondue.

The best thing about the TD5 Disco is its range; you can squeeze 21 English Gallons of heavy oil into the tank, stick the cruise on at a genuine 70mph and achieve 30mpg.  You'll need a piss before you need to refuel.  I got from Newcastle to Munich once on one tank in what was pretty poor weather.

What is that! looks like a mk1 Golf crossed with a Kia Sportage...

Biagini (I think) Passo. Mk 1 Golf body on Golf Country chassis with "unique" front end.

Delicas come in V6 3.0 form, FWIW, and L400s have proper full-time 4x4 like a Disco (or is it part time? The one you leave engaged. Can never remember) with difflocks and low range. They also have rear heat/air, glass roof panels on most, and will cruise at 85mph happily. The only drawbacks I found on mine (apart from rampant rust because imported by idiot) were the height sometimes meant carparks/tip were denied, and everyone wanted a lift.

Series 3s can do family skiings.

I have a '99 td5 disco. A heavy shower doesn't stop on the outside. Driver or passenger gets it depending on the corner direction. The sunroof handle is where mine has its pissing hole.

They are good for skis though. Four pairs fit in the back including my long ones at an angle so no climbing on the roof needed.

Quite high maintenance but DIYable.

That Chevy Suburban ad.  Ha!  "£5000 cash, no offers".  Also no photos.  Also no fucking chance.

Hey, I'm not the lunatic who considers to ferry 7 pplz to an Alpine ski resort by means of private transport.

I'm just coming up with possible solutions for such a daft idea.

Delica L400 seems a good option with 7 passengers and luggage. L300 too slow - would be painful.

It's a shame the Ssangyong Musso, Korando and Kyron are only 5-seaters as they're all funky-looking things. That leaves just the Rexton with 7 seats - but probably not enough boot space in that configuration...
