Finally managed to get the 309 home.

No collection thread as it was so uninteresting it was amazing I stayed awake the whole journey.

Nuff talk. Some photos.

Overall.

1992 Peugeot 309 1.3 gl

115k, 11 months mot, some welding needed for next mot, mostly pretty good bodywork, roof is witches tit.

Oil leak. Although I believe this is standard.

Shall investigate.

Very happy.

Bonny colour man.  You probably definately want some SMR pepperpots for that.

Is this the one with no boot floor and the bathroom lock on the glovebox?

If so... I think you bought well.

Looks excellent.  I notice there's a lady in the first photo, you'd better get used to being surrounded, even stalked by attractive females who only want to hear you whisper "the lion goes from strength to strength"

Yeah it is, do I know you from another forum?

I also own a blue 205 turbo d with comedy boost pipes. (More on that later.)

Cheers for the niceness everybody.

That is Mrs Foxhake in the pic, so it will be her beating the other sex back with a shitty stick unfortunately.

I love it, drives really well, gearchange is tight, engine is nice and smooth, manual choke, carb.

But I am an XUD man so this will most likely change.

my first proper girlfriends dad had a 309 in that colour.

his was diesel one though without a turbo.....

they are a nice old car, to buying!

Fantastic! Look at the mrs taking photos and putting it on facebook for the world to be well jel of. Good work! Chalky blue,my fave

Looks honest enough Arthur.

The 309 I had was also a five door on a "J", but a Goodwood, so the opposite end of the spectrum.

Enjoy it!

Looking at your support vehicle you really don't take chances do you, a whole car transporter with an empty lower deck and three mini pope-mobiles on top as spares I'd call that a bit of overkill. Where's your sense of adventure?

Beautiful ain't it.

Where was it for sale that you other guys saw it?

I bought it through 306oc.

I am still pleased with it and not fussed by the welding.

I do have a set of SMR pepperpots on my 205. Not sure of the future of it now I've bought this 309.

I have a massive hankering to put the crazy boost XUD lump with epic win turbo attached into it.

Whaddaya think?

A XUD with turbo to tweek?  Have this one complete with ZX attached, goes well but no MOT for a last ditch offer of £75  before it becomes bean cans next week.

You fucker, where is it?

Do any mot's remain?

I wanted a ZX as well...

Ah, re-read your post. No mot's left.

Still, where is it?

GU2 7XH Surrey.   Failed on a few things some have been fixed, back brakes need whippling into submission with new bits some of which are included.  Delivery, by using it as a car, is a possibility depending on destination.

Now off to Spoons so price may change depending on alcohool intake.

Oh, Christ / Jah / Jehova etc.

You are less than an hour away.

This could get messy.

Book MOT, drive home, swap engine, be a winner at life.

Looks like I'll just have to buy another car.

Man logic has weighed up the costs involved and deemed it all perfect. Mandatory even.

Woman logic is not so sure but knows man logic is superior.

Just been investigating the oil leak and it turns out to be crankshaft seals, both ends.

CBA with changing them, I'd rather change the engine.

My hand is forced.

talk to the friendly bunch at Simca Club UK, who also love the 'Talbot Arizona' aka 309 and they'll get you on the right track:-)

If you want the simca engine it's yours for a peperami firestick and a bombay bad boy. No offers.
