Took my missus's Mgf for mot at our local garage and this is on the forecourt for sale.

Mot'd til March or May next year, couldn't remember which.

74500 miles.

G reg 1.6 auto.

Only blemishes I could see was front of both rear arches and rear of o/s arch and a bit on the front n/s screen pilar.

Interior is nice except for a tear in the drivers seat squab.

That colour is shite. 'Mushroom' or something. Actually, Mushroom and Gloomy Sunday considering it's two-tone..

I knew it was an auto just by the colour.

This is in my favoured maestro spec of the wrap around bumpers and 2 tone. Whereabouts is it?

Oyster beige over Tempest Grey. Literally life changing.

Looks alright actually!

Shit, that's not far away really, only about 20 miles over the border.

Some guy was telling me about this at Manchester. Can't be many beige Maestro automatics for sale at garages in Wales!

That colour is truly depressing.

I bet the painter at Cowley was listening to Leonard Cohen singing "bird on a wire" when he laid the top coats on that.

...Or Heaven knows I'm miserable now by The Smiths.

The true successor to the Allegro!

I had a 1.6 auto with power steering

Actually a decent car, handled well and wasn't as lethargic as you would imagine

Always remember the advert for the Montego on the tele. Its said "two tone bodywork". My brother was wee at the time and used to think it said " two ton bollywog"  :-D
