I hope you have more luck than me, I was contacted by a farmer wanting to sell an RS2000 4x4 in April, still waiting for to actually see it! Nowt moves fast with Yorkshire farmers.....

From what he was replying to can we guess it's a mk1 escort?

He's being mysterious, what do you expect from a man called "theshadow"

If it's been used as a kennel, and it's coming from a farm, it's reasonable to expect a van.  Mk1 Transit, therefore.

If it's a Mk1 Focus, leave it there and take the dogs instead, they'll be a nicer ride than the car.

Don't get your hopes up too high if he says "needs a clean", it probably has been sat on it's belly in mud since 1981 where it was parked after the kids got bored with ragging round the fields. You obviously haven't seen it.

Mk1 escort just take the v5 and chassis plate..

did i just say that?

And nick a " ford " badge off it  for me , mines all manky on the Fiesta

I think Trig has won!

I'm thinking a Mk1 Ka. Red with sheep dog piss in the back which would have rotted the fuel filler cap and sills out in half an hour.

Pessimistic mofo's you lot.

It'll quite obviously be a Mk1 Orion Ghia injection, having been loved all its life like farmers do with everything.

Probably.

I used to work for a family firm, the family consisting of two farming brothers and one who ran the produce-market side.  One of the farming brothers had at least two, possibly three cars tucked away in tumbledown lockups around the yard, only one of which I ever saw in the flesh.  That was a 1977 Volvo 244.  The others were a Pageant Blue Maxi and a white XR3, or possibly XR3i.  I never saw that one, and only had a glimpse of the Maxi, but as far as I know, they're all still there.  At least a decade later!  Farmers sell nothing unless they can see a market.

Farmers in my experience, whilst professing disinterest and lack of concern in monetary value, know the value of every single possession to the last penny.

Nobody ever left a farmyard clutching a new possession, leaving behind a befuddled farmer who has sold it for less than its worth. Ever.

 that interior is horrific mate. Good luck with the cleaning of that. Whats the plan? Does it involve a gallon of unleaded and a match?

I can smell it from here.

Also....whats the black tube in the boot running from the side trim through the floor? thats never the fucking petrol filler is it?

1 - I cant believe I have never seen in a Focus boot before.

2 - I cant believe any designer with anything like pride in his work would have the pipe protruding into the load space like that.

I think it's the LPG filler dave_numbers

The pipe is special, you pump unlimited dog hair in via it. Optional extra part number bu115h1t.

Aye, so it is - the pez filler is on the right. Still a bit crap though, especially if its a factory install?

The rest should come up ok with a bucket of water, a handful of dish sponges, some cillit-bang and a rubber grooming brush to lift the hairs. Gotta wonder if its worth the effort though.

may take to foreign car wash jobbies,it has fresh smell of the countryside in it,....original car from glasgow, than leeds..

Good luck.

The Kosovan Kar Kleaners and every other valeting place I went to told me to fuck right off when I tried to get this cleaned....

Did it myself as above with a rubber grooming brush, cillit bang, a sponge and soapy water.
