spike60 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I hope you have more luck than me, I was contacted by a farmer wanting to sell an RS2000 4x4 in April, still waiting for to actually see it! Nowt moves fast with Yorkshire farmers..... brickwall 1
theshadow Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 its a mk1 version,in red...has had big sheep dogs in it,so interior will need clean,so he has said.
steve_earwig Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Mk.1 blue oval. Not blue circle, Red Square or Bermuda Triangle. Christine, Banger Kenny and TRW 3
Mr_Bo11ox Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 0.8/10 so far Cavcraft, Uncle Jimmy and Twiggy 3
Tamworthbay Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 From what he was replying to can we guess it's a mk1 escort?
Cheggers Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 He's being mysterious, what do you expect from a man called "theshadow" Uncle Jimmy, Magnificent Rustbucket, maxpower and 2 others 5
eddyramrod Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 If it's been used as a kennel, and it's coming from a farm, it's reasonable to expect a van. Mk1 Transit, therefore. Twiggy 1
Split_Pin Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Whatever it is, the farmer will want £8000 for it. cobblers, michael1703, mouseflakes and 8 others 11
trigger Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I'm guessing it's a Mk1 Mondeo Estate with a chewed up interior full of fleas. Christine, srad34, Alexg and 2 others 5
Cavcraft Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 If it's a Mk1 Focus, leave it there and take the dogs instead, they'll be a nicer ride than the car. Uncle Jimmy, anonymous user, NorthernMonkey and 5 others 8
spike60 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Don't get your hopes up too high if he says "needs a clean", it probably has been sat on it's belly in mud since 1981 where it was parked after the kids got bored with ragging round the fields. You obviously haven't seen it. eddyramrod 1
Christine Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Mk1 escort just take the v5 and chassis plate.. did i just say that? And nick a " ford " badge off it for me , mines all manky on the Fiesta Uncle Jimmy 1
Bren Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 DAF variomatic but his dogs have chewed the rubber bands. Cavcraft and Uncle Jimmy 2
greengartside Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I'm thinking a Mk1 Ka. Red with sheep dog piss in the back which would have rotted the fuel filler cap and sills out in half an hour. Lacquer Peel 1
TRW Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Pessimistic mofo's you lot. It'll quite obviously be a Mk1 Orion Ghia injection, having been loved all its life like farmers do with everything. Probably.
eddyramrod Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I used to work for a family firm, the family consisting of two farming brothers and one who ran the produce-market side. One of the farming brothers had at least two, possibly three cars tucked away in tumbledown lockups around the yard, only one of which I ever saw in the flesh. That was a 1977 Volvo 244. The others were a Pageant Blue Maxi and a white XR3, or possibly XR3i. I never saw that one, and only had a glimpse of the Maxi, but as far as I know, they're all still there. At least a decade later! Farmers sell nothing unless they can see a market.
BavarianRetro Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Farmers in my experience, whilst professing disinterest and lack of concern in monetary value, know the value of every single possession to the last penny. Nobody ever left a farmyard clutching a new possession, leaving behind a befuddled farmer who has sold it for less than its worth. Ever. cobblers, trigger, Banger Kenny and 10 others 13
theshadow Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 well cavcraft is correct, here in all it glory, petrol not incl, well for £200,pictures inc eurocarparts goodies, drive fine ,front tyres look worn, als has lpg/petrol,one key, tailgate dented, giffer tape shot, Banger Kenny 1
oldcars Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 that interior is horrific mate. Good luck with the cleaning of that. Whats the plan? Does it involve a gallon of unleaded and a match? Banger Kenny and michael t 2
dave21478 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I can smell it from here. Also....whats the black tube in the boot running from the side trim through the floor? thats never the fucking petrol filler is it?1 - I cant believe I have never seen in a Focus boot before.2 - I cant believe any designer with anything like pride in his work would have the pipe protruding into the load space like that. cobblers and trigger 2
oldcars Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 The pipe is special, you pump unlimited dog hair in via it. Optional extra part number bu115h1t. Lord Sterling 1
dave21478 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Aye, so it is - the pez filler is on the right. Still a bit crap though, especially if its a factory install? The rest should come up ok with a bucket of water, a handful of dish sponges, some cillit-bang and a rubber grooming brush to lift the hairs. Gotta wonder if its worth the effort though.
theshadow Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 may take to foreign car wash jobbies,it has fresh smell of the countryside in it,....original car from glasgow, than leeds..
dave21478 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Good luck. The Kosovan Kar Kleaners and every other valeting place I went to told me to fuck right off when I tried to get this cleaned.... Did it myself as above with a rubber grooming brush, cillit bang, a sponge and soapy water. Banger Kenny, anonymous user, Christine and 3 others 6
